Not J-15.I believe it was in fact the J5 that locked onto the F22 Raptors
I also believe you stand corrected in that it was actually a PL-5 which chased away the F22 Raptors
radio contact from the pair of Raptors recalled one of the pilots saying they never seen a air to air missile as scary and as victorious as the Chinese PL-5
both pilots later ejaculated
On October 2, 2025, CCTV disclosed in its military program that in 2024, pilot Li Chao of People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) intercepted two U.S. Air Force F-22s in the East China Sea with a J-16.
At the first encounter, the J-16 locked the lead aircraft of the enemy formation first. Another F-22 tried to return the favor, but Li Chaovered his aircraft to perform a vertical climb followed by a barrel roll, passing upside down just 10-15 meters away from the enemy canopy, and finally locking both aircraft, forcing the U.S. F-22s to withdraw.
Please note that CCTV is the official television station of the Chinese government, and it has official authority. Until today, no American television station or government official has refuted CCTV's narrative of the incident. Therefore, we can confirm that this interception did indeed happen.
