JF-17 - Updates, News & Discussion

so thats a JFT vs JFT scenario.
In that case, Bangladesh will have the latest version JF-17B3 while Myanmar has block 2. Also, I am sure BAF pilots will be of much better caliber with PAF's support, including setting up the kill chain and joint exercises.

dont know about avionics but they will come Turkish weapons
The bvr and radar have to be from the same country, but yes otherwise, ground munitions and avionics incl radar can be of different country origin.

I think these jets are their for the exercise, no?

And how can CHINESE AVIONICS and TURKISH WEAPONS communicate each other without CHINESE AND TURKISH SOURCE CODE INTEGRATION on Azerbaijani block-3 JF-17?
dont have much info right know , it might carry Chinese radar or Turkish , but what i know is AZ purchased Bozdoğan and Gökdoğan missiles for jeff , lets wait and see

So that's means it will use Turkish AESA/avionics to communicate Turkish BVRs without it I highly doubt with Chinese AESA/avionics it will communicate with Turkish BVRs

is this a confirmed news? what is the source?
this is the most we know lets wait and see

Azerbaijan is close ally to Turkey and in recent war with Armina Azerbaijan uses lot of Turkish weapons in the war So It safe to assume that Azeri Block 3 JF-17 will have Turkish AESA/avionics to communicate and fire Turkish BVRs/weapons

With Chinese AESA/avionics I highly doubt that they can communicate/fire Turkish BVRs/weapons

so they will use MURAD right

I know about Azerbaijan-Turkey ties and I've heard these turkish ammunition for JF-17 Block 3 rumors too. But I'm struggling to see how this works:

Option 1: Integrate Turkish missiles with the Chinese KLJ-7A AESA radar and avionics? I doubt China would allow that—they tightly control their tech, especially radar/avionics and in turkey case they will definitely adhere to these control.

Option 2: Swap in full Turkish radar, avionics, AND munitions? That's no small task! It'd basically mean like redesigning a new aircraft—tough testing, years of delays, and huge costs.

Plus, Turkey's MURAD AESA radar is liquid-cooled, while JF-17 needs air-cooled for compatibility. No air-cooled Turkish AESA exists yet, so integration sounds very much difficult.

I'm no aerospace expert, but from what I've learned here, this feels way more complicated than it seems.
@JamD @arslank01 @Oscar can shed light on that

IMHO it is Option 2. The Chinese will be on board for this because it'll mean possibly more sales for them. There's no danger of tech leak for them here. However, JF17 with a Turkish radar and weapons stack will be a great selling option. It is too painful to do Option 1 technically.
