Me Personally,Pakistani FO f_**led up badly this meeting should have taken place in China! And I feel this situation would have been a good test for China's aims at being a global hegemony. It has close ties with us Pakistanis (sea access) and is currently wanting to develop the same with Afghanistan (minerals). As such, how China deals with the situation (including if not at all) would give a strong indication of how international affairs will be handled in a China-led world order. As usual with chnia frustration 😠 😤 😡

In my opinion, the peace agreement is a win-win for us.

1. IEA actually keeps true to it and brings a hammer on TTP in Afghanistan - less TTP attacks - less casualties - while we focus on IBOs to kill or drive them out.

2. IEA deceives us and keeps supporting the TTP in Afghanistan - more TTP attacks - yes, more casualties but we'll have all the reasons in the world to use some real brute force which hasn't really been manifested yet - the IEA won't have any narrative to sell while appearing as the primary violators of peace agreement -- if we still proceed with the policy of restraint, then i would very much like to see a severe public backlash on it turning into a massive public pressure on the decision makers.

So -- interesting times -- next couple of weeks would be very interesting -- let's see how things unfold.

It’s not about being petty. It’s about being quite and accepting and giving space to the idea and claim. That’s what they did.
That's like asking Afghans not to curse Pakistanis, or not to speak with India because we don't like it.

No need for Pakistan to moan like a little girl over a non-issue...

Let the Afghans celebrate like a little girl as it's more important to their ego.

anyway, all in all, another L for Pakistan after having the upper hand. 2025 not been great. Pak gets the upper hand then fumbles it all lol
Considering what the global media, analysts, military journals have been saying since May 2025 and even today, it's very odd to downplay Pakistan's huge achievements in military and diplomatic fronts and nitpick on smaller downsides here and there.

Pakistan is having defense deals, best ever diplomatic clout and ceasefires after hitting the enemies on our own terms. Chinese media is filled with praises and suggestions of increased cooperation with Pakistan after J10 deal with Indonesia. India is isolated and Afghans have been pacified, at least if they stay with the deal.
  • Airbase attacked? Israel with a tiny area and 3 layered defence got their airbase attacked too. Nobody can avoid that. Indian airbase and S400 got attacked as well btw
  • Soldiers lost ? Yes we were fighting an 8 times larger enemy. Those soldiers take an oath to defend the country. Sahaba attained Shahadat im badr and uhud and then truce was reached. We are not any greater miracle than those people.

Please stop downplaying Pakistan's successes. Thank Allah that we have an army that can defend us at 2 fronts and still achieve peace and we were not the ones to lose so many planes and fail diplomatically everywhere against an 8 times smaller country . There is no end to wishing we had done this or that or that too. Let's not set sky high goals and then criticise the army for no real reason.

At the end of the day there is always one thing that defines the good and the bad in that damned country Afghanistan and thats mountains, just like how the US couldn't get rid of the taliban, if the taliban honoured the deals with pakistan then the other groups in Afghanistan might become just as bad as the taliban and attack the taliban itself this peace agreement isn’t worth the papers it’s written on. Best Pakistan she keeps her powder dry!

I don't how more clear it ought to BE..
With Afghanistan facing no invasion in this entire history have chosen to pick a conflict with Pakistan out of all its neighbors...
The only country in the it's neighborhood which doesn't claim an inch of Afghanistan and everyone else claim their land in Afghanistan...
Can't it be more clearer....
In order for Afghanistan to exist and fend off the land claims of any other neighbors it needs to stay in conflict with Pakistan..
Why can't people understand it in over 75 years and keep helping these snakes.....
Why and who is doing and mind behind it I. Pakistan needs to be checked and checked for good..
Now before this little cobra become HYDRA with h many faces and mouths spitting out continues poison towards Pakistan and it's society and it's values.. whatever is left of the them anyways...

Can anyone explain, what's going on with border agreement apparently Talibs are saying they don't respect the Durand line and the border text was taken out from the Qatari statement on Talibs request?

Border is a non issue? Right…

the peace agreement

Do you understand the actual legal position of Taliban in the international community?
It is not a recognized government... worse yet both Qatar, the host, and Pakistan the grieved party do not recognize Taliban as legitimate government of Afghanistan.
The agreement privides them legitimacy in lieu of what tangible(s) exactly?
Say they don't follow up? What then... they're already not a recognized, legitimate government of Afghanistan. So them keeping the word doesn't really count so how would that impact by not keeping their word...
Indians on the flipside upgraded their mutual ties publicly and on the record.
This doesn't give the desired optics to Pakistan without accruing tangibles... for what it endows in return to the Taliban government. In fact it becomes a stepping stone for them to build upon. The wording, venue and outcome therefore is not well received.

No Afghan government has ever accepts Durand Line not only Taliban. Does make you wonder what Pakistani delegates were doing when this important bit was being removed out by the Qataris? Or did we also agree to it?
