They have other borders and ports, none of which Pakistan controls. The taliban free to negotiate with them instead (they won't, because they're prideful racists, and have pissed off their other neighbors as well).

The talibs do have some large crudely-modified drones (originally mainly meant for farming) so it could be their own.

I doubt it's a US drone.

It could be a Pakistani drone, but other than for intelligence purposes, I don't see why it would be there.

[Edit]: thinking about it, it's probably for intelligence purposes, and a clear threat. Panjshir is where the NRF is based, and Pakistan recently hosted a bunch of opposition Afghan leaders. Its basically saying, "keep supporting the ttp, and you lose north Afghanistan again".

They should be celebrated by the rest of country for resisting the tyranny, while the rest of us are acting like khassis against these thugs in GHQ.

That signalling hasn't deterred the taliban, we should have started supporting the NRF back in the 2023, giving them intelligence, weapons. funding etc, you can get Tajikistan and perhaps the other Central Asian states in on it too since Taliban is threatening their water supply.

The generals were busy doing....other things, during that time. They had no time for foreign threats.
 
Realistically a long term solution to the "Afghan problem" Is to have a minority controlled government in kabul, we didn't exactly do the NR right in the 90s because jurnails from the school of Zia had a favorite horse in the Taliban, the big gazillion IQ planners didn't realize that turning your country into a giant madrassa to fight a proxy war can cause problems down the line, they didn't realize the unspoken rule of proxy warfare, keep them far from home

Its called democracy, citizen's will, the wisdom of the collective. You may not like it, may want to stand aside , thinking yourself as smarty pants or worse messiah.

Yeah but they got too lost in the sauce and basically shifted Pakistani society to fight this proxy war, letting the Saudis fund madrassa's and Spreading Wahabism, things like banning movies killed Pakistani cinema which was flourishing in the 60 and 70s and temporarily the Pakistani music industary, which has thankfully recovered and reached new heights since then

Pakistan was pushed into a conservative shell that it still hasn't gotten out of.
