$6.7b oil facility sought from Saudi

If you fight other's war then you must brace of its consequences.

Afghanistan war's devastating impact is that it has tarnished our image as a progressive country. The whole society is in disary. Frustrated educated youth are flee overseas is search for better life. Non skilled and sami skilled don't leg behind either

That is true. This topic has been discussed to death for decades. Many of us living as expats have grown old listening to the same arguments. In the end, they remain only discussions, unfortunately.

O, wow so easy...BTW how can we accomplish these goals

Who said fixing an economy was easy? It all starts with intent. You can't depend on foreign loans and remittances to fund imports all year, complain about the tanking economy, and expect things to magically change. That’s just denial. Pakistan’s core economic problem isn't a lack of solutions. It's a lack of political will. The leadership is more than happy to just coast along. These people have become accustomed to easy money. Why would anyone take the initiative to improve things when easy money flows through remittances and loans? Even when this money is peanuts.

I am just an expat. Not even born inside Pakistan. I can only observe and give my two cents. Not that it will make an iota of difference.

You don't have to tell me that Pakistan didn't learn anything from history. I am well aware of that.

Ultimately, it is up to Pakistan to improve its economic trajectory and the welfare of its citizens. The modern world offers plenty of successful blueprints to follow. The real question is whether the political will to change even exists and right now, it is nowhere to be seen.

The population isn't considered human capital in Pakistan. That mindset has to change. First, learn to prioritise your main asset, the people. Educate them by providing equal education. When you have one set of quality education for the rich and the public schools are in ruins, what can one expect?

THIS .. THIS .. THIS !!!!!

Back when the civil-military topic was on the last benches.
