Don't think any Blk 2 have been upgraded to BLK 3 .
BLK 1 were upgraded to Blk 2.

No Block I aircraft were upgraded to Block II.
No Block II aircraft were upgraded to Block III.

From information shared on the forum over the years, there were reportedly too many structural changes introduced with Block III to make such an upgrade feasible for Block II airframes.

That said, this is only what I've learned from the forum's senior members. I don't have the technical expertise or the detailed knowledge to verify it independently.

Personally, I don't see why every block would need to be upgraded when each was designed to fulfil its intended role.

Pretty sure all the initial 50 batch of Block 1 had structural upgrades.
Likewise all 50 were upgraded to block 2 standard.
There was a crash in 2011 near Attock. Serial number 10-127.
It had a swear wing flex during specific maneuvers, and caused loss of lift , and the crash.
The wing flex was fixed in all Block 1 , by structural modification.

I dont see any reason why blk1 cannot be upgraded to blk2. And blk 2 getting avionics update similar to blk3 .... let's call it blk2A..

I don't see why there would be a need for a Block IV when the Block III is already considered such a significant improvement over the Block II.

If there were a requirement for more aircraft, they could simply produce another 150 Block IIIs, and it would still be regarded as a highly capable, high-tech fighter well into the 2030s and likely the 2040s.

Then why blk4 and not produce enough blk3 unless blk4 is going to have jas39E type upgrades... in my opinion blk3 could be upgraded with EOTS as j10c, and cft for more fuel, may be one more addition HP, qudraplex digital all axis flyby light FCS, updated radar better than klj7a, وفادار 1 integration.... etc etc

I mean i don't see why we should cap on upgrades on Block3? we don't have resources for 5th gen fleet in numbers, plus our main enemy aka India can be handled with good numbers of JF-17block 3's and J-10CE's. But as per PAF we are going to induct another 20ish J-10CE, so I wonder if that's where the money in diverted into ?

We don't know exactly how many JF-17 Thunders Pakistan produced in 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026.

In 2022, an estimated 14–15 aircraft were produced, 12 of which I have photographs of. If Pakistan maintained a minimum production rate of 12 aircraft per year, that would amount to 48 aircraft over four years.

For 2023, serial numbers up to 23-323, as well as 24-322, were made public. Then, for whatever reason, PAC appeared to go into "silent mode." Information leaks stopped abruptly, and public sightings became much less frequent. The timing also appears to coincide with the swearing-in of the new hybrid government in February 2024, although whether the two are related is impossible to say based on the available information.
