Quite a lot got picked up, including my cousin. They tried to pin charges on him, until my aunt and uncle showed video evidence that he was on a trip with his friends to Montreal, instead of Pakistan which he had never been to.

Couldn't even sue, because no lawyer was willing to take the case at the time.

Yes it was very hard for Muslims especially in the west during those times. I personally know a few people who were picked up and had their families ruined because of it just to be proven innocent.
