From India's first private small arms manufacturing facility of Adani Defence and Aerospace come a wide range of sophisticated weapons that are now being supplied not just to India's defence forces, the Army, Navy and Air Force, but also to the paramilitary, civilian police and are being exported across the world. NDTV's Uma Sudhir shoots questions to Ashok Wadhawan, Joint President and Head of the Land System.

what a great shame it took so long to make even small arms.. tsk tsk

Thank you, Modi Ji

no wonder congress andant india lobby and its financers like George soros hate Adani group ;) :p
These companies only have a chance if your Police Forces order them in large numbers. India should start with 100 major cities. Your Police Force is still not even close to handle a situation like 26/11. If you see same type of attack again by the time force one, or NSG or some other force will reach the location damage would be done. Your Policeman, who is on patrol, needs to be armed with handguns and assault rifles, not just with sticks.

Mulla ji there is a lot of difference between psycie of indian and pakistani population and the police that controls them

now 26/11 hapenned almost 15 years ago and we have seen a lot of changes both in training and equipment specially in last 9 years

now the main point is private industries making a big impact in defnce sector then be it avionics or rdars or weapons or small arms or howitzers to ammunation and the main loosers like international arms dealers and the foriegn arms suppliers are really angry both with current govt and these private players ...... hope you know what i mean mulla ji :P

Your response is exactly what I hate. Nothing happened for 15 years means you want to wait for 200 people to end up dead in most ruthless manner. Lot of Police around the world carry handguns. They don't go around controlling general public through that

Mulla ji those who control your nation are not so naive or restless for that matter thatthey will take another chance cause had they wanted to test indian resolve or capbility they would have had attacked post 5-8-2019 but there is a reason why they dint and so are all those maoists and terrorists taking any risks when they could have ....... thay all are not ... should i say as motivated as you mulla ji ...kaddi aao dilli ;) :P

It will not be so easy as earlier for some yahoos to infiltrate and cause mayhem like in 26/11

lessons have been learnt, the hard way.

Some countries need policemen with assault rifles. Some countries, a lathi is enough.

its more like in some countries a police guy with AK47 is taunted as thulla thulla but just across the border a police guy controls the mob with just lathis ....

Moral of the story

Respect for LAW & Order and police is what is more important not the fire arms

Not whole police force , but it's true that top 50 cities of India definitely need SWAT like teams , equipped with fully automatic guns , and stanag2/7.62-51 capable armoured vehicles.

Insas should be transferred to police shooting ranges , and new AR/AK orders should be given.

Just curious, why you are addressing Zarvan as Mullaji ? @Zarvan are you really one? Or does Mullah means learned person similar to Pandit ( not only religious matter) kind of similar to Ustaad.

I do agree most Indian police are still OK with latthi as individuals are not armed in India so no need to go for over kill.

no dear there is a day and night difference between a mulla and a Pandit but its another
debate i call Zarvan bhai as Mulla since long long back ... sadda pyaar hai ;) :P

but the topic is not what indian police needs as per what pakistanis feels but what and how indian private industry is changing the face on indian defnce and aerospace industries
