Taliban appoint sanctioned commander Mohammad Fazel as transport minister

KABUL (Amu tv): Mohammad Fazel Mazloom, a former Taliban deputy defence minister who is under U.N. sanctions, has been appointed minister of transport and civil aviation in a cabinet reshuffle ordered by the Taliban’s supreme leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada.

Taliban defense minister urges members to ‘forget the past’

KABUL (Amu tv): The Taliban’s defense minister on Sunday urged members to “forget the past” and avoid settling old scores, warning that revenge and factional rivalries could once again plunge the country into internal conflict.
Speaking at a gathering in Kabul marking the 37th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid called on Taliban members to set aside political and factional divisions rooted in earlier decades of war.

GENEVA (AFP) : Nearly 150,000 Afghans have returned from Pakistan and Iran this year, with the speed and scale of migration pushing Afghanistan deeper into crisis, the UN refugee agency said Friday.
“So far this year, nearly 150,000 Afghans have returned from Iran and Pakistan. These arrivals come on top of already unprecedented returns — 2.9 million people in 2025, bringing the total to some 5.4 million since October 2023,” Arafat Jamal, the UNHCR representative to Afghanistan, told a press briefing in Geneva.
