AJK is not and never has been 99% Punjabi, no one calls themselves Punjabi. The people of AJK fought the Sikh Punjabi empire, Punjab in Pakistan (people in charge, nobles) did not and allied with it.

"AJK" was part of Mughal punjab and later on sikhs also made it part of their kingdom. In 1846 British transferred AJK districts to Dogra hindus as a reward for their support. Thats how AJK got separated from punjab on paper.

I was hoping that army/GHQ/FM will take a confident move and let PTI freely (despite IK political shortcomings) take part in AJK and GB elections, would had even given them much needed goodwill as PTI can slowly be integrated into to political process.
These actions are counterproductive and will just keep the situation simmering.
This is so heart wrenching.
