Agreed. Armour has not kept us with the development of modern stand-off weaponry. That is not to say Armour doesn't have a role in the modern battlefield, far from it. If anything we have seen just how poorly the Russian Military has used its mechanized infantry and armour in battle.

Some vital parts are coming from China, like the ones you mentioned, but the main body is manufactured in Pakistan.

Probably, heavy ERA is needed on the top too to counter these threats.

Original 570 Units order for VT-4 import was curtailed.
ToT with NORINCO results in Local assembly + Sub systems including Radios, IBMS, Drivers night sight, Gun Barrel, 125mm Smoothbore Gun for Haider MBT.
Capability to manufacture Turret & Hull is already available with HIT..

Given Pakistan current economic condition, the rate of procurement will actually match the rate at which Pakistan can afford to pay for these tanks. At least, there will be less pressure on FX reserves with more of the components being made inhouse in Pakistan, both in procurement costs, but also lifecycle costs over the lifespan of this tank.

Yes consider the repetition of Type-90-II which is the base of Al-Khalid tank.
VT-4 is the origin point of Haider tank program tank manufactured in HIT with the help of China, you can say a localized VT-4 is Haider tank

The Alkhalid has Ukrainian engine, while Haider has a Chinese engine. There was a lot of RD done on the Khalid in Pakistan The Haider is off the shelf
