When it comes to schedules in Indian defence R&D and acquisitions things are not straight forward. First, I am assuming its the DRDO/HAL issued dates? In which case it cannot be fully trusted. Second, its up to the IAF's acceptance of the aircraft that would also set or reset the schedule. IAF & IA traditionally have not been a big fan of mainstay weapon systems developed by the DRDO and its subsidiaries. For AMCA to be successful, IAF needs to have maximum participation in the program.

Of course we all know about Indian plan here and there and later being revised. This is why I said based on their revised plan. There is no definitive on this matter, but it is the best we can do to do the prediction. We all can see what will be the reality later

China's mass production program is cost effective. China is Doing better than US in 220B USD. The quality is debatable I agreed. Being a developing country, India has to look after budget also.

Ok, so here is the most up to date model of the AMCA.

DRDO was likely just lazy and decided to use an older full scale mockup that it probably used to measure the RCS, for this Aero India. Just to show what it will look like. It's backfired because the poor quality of that model has been panned.

I have already given my personal opinion. Let's agree to disagree. I'm not an expert in AERO industry. But I have learnt many things while researching it.

It is weird if they dont show the real design, very unlogic. The real design must be the one shown in this event, not picture in the brochure

Just like with KF21/IFX, current design has no different with design completed in 2012 December by ADD Korea and Indonesian Aerospace

Do you recall what the TAI TFX looked like at an Air Show? What was it? Paris or Dubai? Looked very different from what the eventual KAAN turned out to be and even that apparently is not the representative model.

This was just DRDO/HAL folks deciding to re-purpose an existing older full scale mockup instead of spending on building a proper, final representative AMCA model.

The correct design looks like what I've posted in my earlier post.

1500 T/R modules, in actual it be around 3000 T/R modules.

If considering GaN, it be around 75 kw of peak power. AMCA going to require 5th/6th gen jet engine to power this beast.

No way. Only Su30 can fit 3000 TRM.

All 5th Gen will be similar in appearence for sure, what is strange about this mock up is how large the cockpit seems to be relative to the rest of the airframe, reminds me of that weird Iranian "stealth" jet mock up the revealed a few years back...
