I think this video is quite good because it gave me some perspective on why there is this indian-china divide in mentality. In the 80s china and india were similar gdp wise and india + china see each other as equals. As China progressed massively and became world leaders in AI, Robotics, Green energy, Evs, drones etc, India has not been able to develop or innovate HOWEVER the indians still see China and India as equals. For Chinese as this lady explains, China does not look down on anyone whether it be africans or south east asians but they do not like being lumped in the same category when realities have changed significantly on the ground. Now the most advanced cities are all in China while the three memebers on the panel say India hasn't changed much in 25 years and quality of life has not improved at all. The lady explains that this indian held belief to lump china and india as similar is disingenuous and a lie therefore China has lost respect for India because realities have changed significantly since the 80s.

As an Indian, I have no issues in conceding that China is way ahead of India in most globally accepted metrics.

I very much skeptical about her anecdotal Bollywood claims, exaggerated hyperbolic.

The male host made a very interesting point, that effectively the gap was sealed as far back as the 80s, no one was willing to acknowledge.

We miss out the point about can India ever be willing to accept Chinese obvious and growing improvement?

she is actually not explaining the full extent of this, because there is contempt for the Indian delusions from the Chinese, not just being poor, but being bellicose, unsophisticated, valuing form over substance, this is what the Chinese hold in most contempt about it's alleged rival, how can such a large country with big ambitions be so antithetical to it's responsibility. Hence this screams out a big liability to the Chinese.

Yeah 99% of chinese have no idea about Bollywood. I think she is just stroking ego of indians a little because I nor my extended family ever seen a Bollywood film.

The chinese dont mind if india is poor but chinese are realistic people and if india has mindset about china from 40yrs ago and unwilling to change their mindset then chinese won't respect lies and fabrications either.

China and india relations won't improve while indian leadership refuses to improve their country while fabricating lies about china. Maybe someday relations will improve but the internet really opened the eyes of chinese about indians and their way of life and behaviour.

Yes exactly, over the top bravado implies unserious and a bit dumb.

even someone who is trying to come across as grounded and level headed, they have to throw in Bollywood.
