Special Note:
APEC China 2026. This is merely a routine meeting focused on economic affairs; it is not something to be blown out of proportion.
But, in today’s exceptionally volatile world—shaped by a variety of external forces—the nature of this routine economic meeting is gradually undergoing a transformation!
Initially, this was intended to be a routine international economic conference. Russian President Vladimir Putin was the first to announce his personal attendance. While the U.S. government has yet to provide official confirmation, President Trump has already publicly stated on several occasions that he intends to attend in person.
However, Russian media floated the idea of a potential trilateral summit between the leaders of China, the United States, and Russia—a move aimed at finding a way out of the ongoing, intense Russia-Ukraine war.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy immediately responded, asserting that if the Russia-Ukraine conflict were to be discussed during such a meeting, Ukraine must have a seat at the table.
To date, neither China nor the United States has responded to Russia’s proposal. Whether a trilateral meeting between the leaders of China, the U.S., and Russia will take place during the 2026 APEC summit—and whether such a meeting would delve into the Russia-Ukraine war—remains entirely unknown.
The time is drawing near! Let us wait and see!
