An attachment for the Russian GP-25 grenade launcher, designed to destroy drones.

The only drawback to that setup is the removal of the spent cartridge and reloading a single. The process is a bit of a pain in the ass, especially the removal part, but it's only a plus at the end of the day to have that additional shot available.

Testing of Russian cartridges against drones with caliber 12/70 "Interception" of the Tekhkrim company. The Russian company Tekhkrim presented new “Interception” cartridges designed to intercept drones. The tests were shown by journalist Alexander Rogatkin. Anti-drone cartridge 12/70 caliber, has 6 lead segments connected by Kevlar thread, the cartridge device is on the screen. When firing this cartridge, a strong Kevlar thread is revealed, which, when it hits a target, instantly gets tangled in the drone and disables it. The maximum diameter of the opened net of the Intercept cartridge is one meter; the net opens completely at a distance of 15-20 meters from the barrel cut. This solution will be especially effective against FPV drones, which have begun to attack infantry. According to the manufacturer, the effective firing range of the cartridge is up to 100 meters. Details in the video. The shooting distance for drones is 20-30 meters.

What a great idea. Particularly against drones attacking infantry. To disable the drone with those threads is genius. It's almost like a non-lethal weapon designed to take down a serious threat in a way that reduces the chances of that threat from not only hitting the personnel, but from detonating and causing debris damage even.

That's one of those "wartime adjustments" of inventing something to counter a counter weapon.

Russian mechanics told about a British-made Ukrainian armored personnel carrier FV104 “Samaritan”; the armored personnel carrier was abandoned by the crew. This example was restored for the museum. The FV104 armored personnel carrier was developed in 1976 in Britain and is considered rare, with only 100 units produced. The transporter is developed on the basis of the British FV101 Scorpion tank and has a crew of 2 people. The FV104 has no weapons; it is equipped with four smoke grenade launchers. The vehicle can transport 4 wounded on stretchers and two medics. The armored vehicle was modernized for evacuation purposes, including receiving mine protection, which increases the protection of the crew. The 190 horsepower engine is installed in the front right side of the armored personnel carrier. The maximum speed on the highway is 72 km/h, the range is 480 km. Details in the video.

The Russian army received unsinkable boats; a total of 40 have been delivered so far. In the video you can see how the military is testing a boat from Rostov designers from the Kulibin Club; the boats are resistant to small arms fire and to ammunition dropped from drones. The boat is designed for landing on an unequipped shore and operation in severe weather conditions. The boat can be used with wave heights of up to 2 meters, at a distance from the shore of no more than 12 nautical miles. The weight of the fully equipped boat is 520 kilograms, the carrying capacity is up to 892 kilograms, the boat’s engine power is 130 horsepower. Due to the fact that the boat is filled with special foam, the boat is virtually unsinkable and can easily withstand shrapnel and bullet damage. The very shape of the boat is made specifically so as not to raise a large wave and make less noise. The low-density polyethylene from which the boat is made is a high-strength elastic material; all holes and holes in it can be easily repaired right on the spot. The bottom of the boat is divided into sections, each compartment is a sealed space, so if there is a hole, water will not occupy the entire space and the craft will not sink or lose speed.

A Russian serviceman appreciated the American FN Minimi machine gun of the Ukrainian army. Previously, the machine gun belonged to the Ukrainian Azov unit and was captured near Avdiivka. The machine gun was tested at the training ground. The FN Minimi machine gun was created by the Belgian company FN in 1974. The Minimi prototype was created chambered for 7.62x51, but then the caliber was changed in favor of 5.56x45. In 1982, the FN Minimi machine gun was adopted by the United States under the designation M249. The Minimi Para called M249 Para was also adopted. The M249 is currently manufactured in the United States by a subsidiary of FN Manufacturing. FN Minimi machine guns are popular and used by 45 countries, including under other indexes, some of the countries are shown on the screen. The machine gun has been modernized several times and has various modifications, including those chambered for 7.62 cartridge. Despite its popularity, the FN Minimi machine gun has problems that have not been completely eliminated. The problem of machine gun failures when fed from magazines, rapid failure of the barrel, with a large number of shots fired continuously from a cold barrel. The rate of fire of the machine gun, depending on the modification, is from 750 to 1000 rounds per minute. The maximum firing range is up to 3600 meters, a 100 or 200-round cartridge belt is used, and a 30-round magazine can also be used. The weight of the machine gun is from 5 to 8.5 kg. Details in the video.

Russian special forces received the Frog ground drone, but it is not known who is producing it. The wheeled robotic complex “Frog” was modified by military personnel, after which its operating range began to reach 3 kilometers; according to test results, the drone was considered successful. The “Frog” drone can transport grenades, shells and mines, as well as be equipped with explosives, the drone’s carrying capacity is up to 30 kg. Most likely the drone will be used as a ground-based kamikaze drone. The drone is controlled like a regular FPV drone, the operator uses goggles and a joystick. Installing an electric motor made the drone almost silent; each wheel is equipped with an electric motor. Due to its small dimensions, the drone is difficult to notice from the air; it has a low height and can drive under armored vehicles. The drone has a power reserve of about an hour, a speed of up to 20 km/h, the price is still unknown, but the drone is reportedly being mass-produced.

Against the backdrop of the latest news about the S-300 and S-400 air defense systems, this can also be said about the MIM-104 Patriot air defense system; we are publishing data on the effectiveness of these systems in defeating ballistic missiles. Let's start with the fact that 100% air defense is not yet in the world; it is wrong to judge the effectiveness of air defense systems by the effectiveness of intercepting ballistic missiles. The main function of the S-300, S-400 and Patriot air defense systems is to defeat aerodynamic targets flying horizontally, such as airplanes, helicopters, cruise missiles and large UAVs. It is worth noting that in order to intercept cruise missiles, the air defense system must have a radar to detect low-flying targets; in practice, this is not always the case. The defeat of ballistic missiles is a secondary function of these and air defense systems of this class developed in other countries. A ballistic missile is a difficult target; the Russian Iskander ballistic missile reaches speeds of up to 7,300 km/h in the final phase of its flight, and the American ATACMS missile reaches 3,700 km/h. The difficulty of defeating ballistic missiles is that the missiles develop high speed and approach the target from above, air defense crews do not always have time to detect them, and there is little time left to hit the target. It is also worth noting that the radars of modern air defense systems do not work all the time, since they have their own resource. There is little data on hitting ballistic targets, but it is known. The probability of intercepting a ballistic missile from the Patriot PAC-3 air defense system is from 60 to 80%, provided that there is no interference and the target is not maneuvering. The S-300 air defense system is capable of hitting a ballistic missile with a probability of 50 to 65%. The S-400 air defense system is capable of hitting a ballistic missile with a probability of no higher than 80%, also in ideal conditions. Thus, it is incorrect to judge the effectiveness of current air defense systems based on their capabilities.

Russian developers TsNIITochmash continue testing the Lotos self-propelled guns; the unit may soon enter service with the troops. Preliminary tests of the airborne 120-mm self-propelled gun 2S42 were carried out back in 2023; the self-propelled gun is being developed for airborne and marine units. The 2S42 Lotos self-propelled gun is designed to replace the existing 2S9 Nona-S self-propelled guns and will complement the family of the new Vena self-propelled guns and Phlox self-propelled guns, which we previously showed. It is worth noting that the Vena self-propelled gun is a more advanced solution, but also more expensive. The Lotos self-propelled gun is made on the basis of the BMD-4M with an extended hull and the addition of two rollers on the chassis, this reduces the cost of production and simplifies maintenance. The self-propelled gun has a 120 mm gun that combines the properties of a cannon, howitzer and mortar; it can also use “Kitolov” guided projectiles. The self-propelled gun turret has a highly automated fighting compartment, the rate of fire of the 2S42 “Lotos” is up to 8 rounds per minute, at a range of up to 13 km, the “simultaneous fire attack” firing mode is used. Ammunition - about 40 shots. To protect the crew, a 7.62 mm Kalashnikov tank machine gun is used. The Lotos self-propelled gun has a mass of 18 tons and reaches a speed of up to 70 km/h, with a cruising range of at least 500 km. The combat crew of the vehicle is four people.

Mobile shelters from nuclear weapons are being created in Russia. The mobile shelter "KUB-M" is a modular type, developed by the scientific organization of the Ministry of Emergency Situations - VNII GOChS. The KUB-M shelter provides protection from the air shock wave and light radiation of a nuclear explosion and its consequences, as well as from the high-explosive and fragmentation effects of conventional weapons. It has an autonomous water supply system of 440 liters, a partial regeneration system for internal air, a 15 kW/h diesel power plant, everything you need, all designed for 48 hours. The shelter can be connected to existing utility networks. It is worth noting that there are many underground shelters in Russia, but most of them are abandoned. The basic “KUB-M” configuration accommodates 54 people and a technical unit; the shelter can be expanded with additional modules. If necessary, the nuclear shelter can be transported by road or rail. The production, transportation and installation of the KUB-M shelter is two times cheaper than the construction of a stationary shelter; its production and installation takes only three months.
