As Pakistan's army chief turns on hardline Islamist groups, blasphemy cases plummet

The government cracked down earlier on other Islamist groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Muhammad after pressure from the Financial Action Task Force, a global watchdog against terror financing.

This is incorrect. Lashkar Taiba is the new favourite, they are Saudia backed so automatically become Pakistan ally in the current environment, they are spreading fast in AJK to tackle the ethnic nationalists, and also same in Pakistan to tackle TTP types, they operate under Jamat Dawah and other names. Currently their throats are screaming Pakistan zindabad due to a chance of becoming the state new favourites, all until when international big players will want Jolani type in Pakistan and we will be back to square one. Jaish Mohammad is also operating.

Blasphemy laws are an afront to Islam, 1400 years of repeated scholarly decrees against them, humanity, common sense, Pakistan, and Allah himself. All those who support them are pretentious and blasphemous scum who use fake religious decrees to exact gross atrocities on innocent people, against the explicit protections afforded to them by Allah himself, in order to extract some pretense of power and in-result self-worth in otherwise absolutely worthless and meaningless lives.
