Azad Jammu Kashmir elections 2026

Azad Kashmir's total population is 4 million, and millions of people reside abroad or in other provinces of Pakistan.

There are more than 100,000 government employees in Azad Kashmir. The number of Grade 16 to 22 government employees exceeds 18,000; these are employees who work only within Azad Kashmir. Employees serving in the Pakistan Army, Islamabad, and other provinces and institutions are separate from this.

A total of 80,000 people from Azad Kashmir are employed in the security forces.

If those living abroad and in other parts of Pakistan are excluded, approximately 22% of Kashmir's people are government employees.

The total budget of the Azad Kashmir government is 310 billion rupees, of which only 153 billion comes from state resources, while the remaining 157 billion rupees are provided by the Government of Pakistan. Out of this budget, 261 billion rupees are spent on salaries.

Last year, after protests, the Government of Pakistan further reduced the price of flour provided to the citizens of Azad Kashmir and also significantly lowered the cost of subsidized electricity.

The question is: how much industry has the business community established in Azad Kashmir? How many citizens have they provided jobs to? What notable contributions have they made to the state's agricultural development? Which goods have they made cheaper, and by how much? Another question is: besides running heaters and electric rods with cheap electricity, what facilities have been provided to the people of the state?

There are demands to abolish the seats allocated to Kashmiri refugees residing in Pakistan, but this issue is not so simple that it can be explained through a few social media posts.

After escaping the massacres in Jammu and the subsequent aggression, thousands of Kashmiris were forced to seek refuge in different areas of Pakistan. The free state (the base camp) allocated seats and employment quotas to provide them with an identity.

But now India, which seeks to strip Kashmiris of their identity, is running an organized campaign against these seats through deceptive slogans, with the Action Committee and the business community becoming its fuel.

The people of Azad Kashmir produce 100,000 tons of wheat.

However, 500,000 tons of wheat are consumed in Azad Kashmir.

The remaining 400,000 tons, supplied from Punjab, are sold in Azad Kashmir at subsidized rates cheaper than in Punjab.

Any Kashmiri can receive treatment at military units, advanced health centers, or CMHs located along the Line of Control.

The Awami/Joint Action Committee is in fact neither truly public nor does it contain any real action, because it consists of violent protesters who have come onto the streets only for chaos and propaganda.

It makes no sense, what Government needs to do is takeaway everything and just let them be. Of course I don't support the killing of protestors, but besides this episode Kashmir has been a huge leach on the rest of Pakistan. I don't understand why subsidies are even a thing.

They think placid and malleable generals like Faiz Hameed are fit to be the commander of the armed forces, relegated into the obscurity of the barracks as cannon fodder at the fringes of the realm, lesser thans.

This also explains their rationale in legitimizing terrorist organisations like BYC, PTM and TTP and now JAAC and consider Pakistani casualties as a necessary evil, "collateral".

Yes, anyone who has legitimate complaints and doesn't just sit in a corner and cry about them is a terrorist. Very easy to say that sitting in your chair in the UK while Pakistanis get trampled over everyday.

I am only focus on UN Resolution , which is still valid. Rest protest, that is political that can be addressed peacefully.
Israel is recognized by UN. Would you have a problem if Pakistan recognizes Israel since you know its UN Resolution..
And tell me exactly why should Kashmiris get more subsidized rates compared to rest of Pakistan?
What has ordinary Kashmir done for Pakistan that they should keep on getting special privileges? Kashmiri can buy a house in any other province, punjabi cant buy a house in Kashmir.

There is a reason why this old fart dajjal was in social circle with Epstein Maxwell zionists during the 90s. He was a trojan horse disguised as final hope of muslim ummah.

Pakistan's alleged biggest and most popular party is demanding intervention in Azad and Jammu Kashmir by the United Nations.

This may be general evidence that pti maybe funded by india and is their proxy.

We literally have a United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan.

This is what your current sitting president said.

Multiple presidents, PM's, and your own fauji overlords have repeatedly demanded UN intervention. This is the actual official term for AJK.

The very reason we are having this mess is because Kashmir is a contested territory and not a full fledged part of Pakistan.

Not justifying what they wrote, but har baat par India wali kahani chalanay say tum apni aqal hi zahir kar rahay ho. For God's sake grow up and use your own brain cells. Har cheez India India Yahoodi Yahoodi kar kay khatam nhn ho jati.

And tell me exactly why should Kashmiris get more subsidized rates compared to rest of Pakistan?
For starters, because they are not getting the same royalties that KP gets as part of hydel profits. So while KP gets the money it deserves in the form of the profits, AJK gets next to nothing and then even then the electricity supply is shit in half the province. They are not wanting subsidised or free electricity, they just want the rates rationalized as per the other provinces.

Tum logon nay Kashmir ko apni dukan chamkanay kay liay rakha hua hai. Jab zaroorat paray, to Kashmir walon kay kandhay par apna kaam karwa lo, magr waisay keep an iron fist and treat them as second class citizens.

What has ordinary Kashmir done for Pakistan that they should keep on getting special privileges?

After Baloch and Pashtuns, we now have Kashmiris added to the mix. Next up SIndhis?

Which 15 year old wrote this post?

Yes...and if you have some critical thinking skills rather than blindly copy pasting that tweet from some ISPR intern, care to explain why that might be the case?
If those living abroad and in other parts of Pakistan are excluded, approximately 22% of Kashmir's people are government employees.
So you wanna exclude those who live abroad or in other parts of Pakistan for your cherry picked stats, but you want to include them in reserved seats quotas? Humor me with this sir.
The total budget of the Azad Kashmir government is 310 billion rupees, of which only 153 billion comes from state resources, while the remaining 157 billion rupees are provided by the Government of Pakistan.
  • Punjab spends about PKR 5.9 trillion.
  • About PKR 4.42 trillion (79%) comes from the federal government.
  • Punjab raises about PKR 1.18 trillion (21%) itself.
According to your very own stats, or rather the stats of the ISPR intern you blindly copyy pasted, AJK is doing better in this metric than Punjab.
Out of this budget, 261 billion rupees are spent on salaries.
261 billion is the recurring expenses, which includes salaries, pensions, daily government running expenses, hospitals, schools, police stations, MT, everything that a government touches.

This is about 87% if I am not wrong. Do you know what the recurring expenses for Punjab's budget are? Hint hint, it start with an 8 as well!

So, why the bigotry against AJK and not the same yardstick for Punjab?

Stop being so dishonest man.

So why do Punjabis who migrated from India, or any other ethnicity not get the same treatment?

When someone migrated to another part of the country other than AJK, they reside in that part of the country so they should be able to vote and do everything in that part of the country. Why is it so hard to understand?
Any Kashmiri can receive treatment at military units, advanced health centers, or CMHs located along the Line of Control.
WTF are you talking about dude? Have you even lived there? I will tell my deceased mamu that he should avail the great advanced health centers facilities there in CMH rather than making a trip to Islamabad every week to get his treatment done.

Also the fact that you brag about CMH and military units for healthcare speaks volumes.

Isi liay kehte hain, naqal kay liay bhi aqal chahiay hoti hai

Absolutely. Only UN resolution can bring about justice in the valley.

Now they will say Qatar , with whom the Field Marshal wants to sign a mutual defence alliance, is also part of anti-Pakistan saazish and amplifying RAAAWW propaganda.

Hasn't that been Pakistan's position all along?

Yes, that is why Pakistan's alleged largest party and government is demanding UN resolution over Kashmir.

All Pakistanis seem united over Kashmir. The current wave of political violence would have been avoided if UN were not so useless.

However, PTI has formally promised that despite Kashmiris chosing Pakistan, they would still be offered choice for independent statehood.
