Balochistan Terrorism Watch

No one is stupid enough to send 100 people to their deaths for a propaganda exercise with next to no aims beyond propaganda or chaos

They would be willing to lose 20 and hope the rest would get away

Losing 100 people and im not sure if that includes the 40+ they lost last week is going to be a body blow

This comes at a time where Pakistan has stepped up IBOs across Tribal areas and Balochistan, and they have started to bring success, so the last 6 or so months has been brutal for them, sustaining this will be difficult for them, especially after losing so many people

You are very well informed of how many they were willing to lose, were you in the planning room with them?

As far as losing 100 people goes. It depends. Is your entire organisation just 100 people? Then, no. You will not want to lose 100 people. Is your entire organisation 5000 people and you have a dedicated "Fidayeen" unit that you build up and send on suicide missions? Then maybe, you can gather 100 young people for an attack.

Perhaps you are young, so you have to understand. While BLA was attacking, locals were roaming around freely. This means Isloo and GHQ have lost their narrative that BLA is a terrorist org or FKH.

Now, attacking Afghanistan requires a narrative. Otherwise, who will support that? Your aggressive approach would get lost, the time it starts. So, you cannot just start shooting. Lastly, a narrative is what others believe.
There are the people who 'll prefer to die instead of watching Afghanistan getting attacked. What do you think TTP is??? No argument can convince them . If solution lies in attacking Afghanistan then it must be attacked without giving any justification to anyone. There are many who'll justify attacking India a far more greater power compared to Pak. But when it comes to Afghanistan they'll all say ohhh economy is bad. We can't sustain this fight bla, bla. Guess what afghans won't spare a single chance if to destroy your country .

Please read in context.
Lastly, BLA aim was never to terrorise local Balochis.

In context its more demoralising that people like you offer your intellectual services to BLA or any other terrorist group by constantly bringing in Fall of Dhaka and some apparent persecution and denial of development and share of the resources collected from their territories.

During Afg+Pak talks in Turkey and Qatar, even our friends were suggesting avoiding conflict and attacks.
TTP can be anything but no Afghanis. So, either a covert or surgical strike with no loss of even TTP women or children.
For Pak+India, the entire world and Pakistanis were behind it as we were responding to aggression.
Please compare things which are equal or have the same standards.

Losing 100 people is never good, and this is on top of the 40+ they lost a few days ago

That's a blood bath for these organisations, especially if they've taken no high value target or areas etc

All they've done is cause some chaos, got 100 of their own people killed

Caused Baloch more misery and pain by killing a few civilians and security/police lost about 10 people

Virtually everyone killed will be Baloch, whether it's one of the 10 police killed, or the 15 or so civilians or the lannati terrorists

Literally, what was the point

If your going to lose 100 people, you need to achieve something significant, and they didn't

Kashmiri Freedom Fighters have launched large-scale attacks and ambushes on indian security forces posts and convoys in Kishtwar, IOJK.

More than 10 indian soldiers have been killed, and several others, including high-ranking officials, are critically injured.

We were joking @Panzerkiel 💀

These bastards are like the present-day "Kufa" at the service of the Zionists and Hindutva. They've done a dress-rehearsal of what they did inside Iran. Time to take it 1T times more seriously while there's still some time......

This terror attack IMO is a direct message to the Pak Deep State for it's getting too active and too visible way beyond the borders of Pak. It's getting too much for them....

Time to finish off the unfinished business in Afganistan, which needs to perpetually boil at the utmost degree due to the perennial internal fighting, dissent etc....

Pages after pages not a single word about this rat Fasial Naseer. He is in charge of internal security, WTF is this ? Has this rat found time from hiring some local thugs in UK to attack the Pakistani dissidents and local political wheeling and dealing? When people in Pakistan start asking the right questions about competency of these GHQ lot? You simply cant look beyond absolute failure of security apparatus led by Asim Muneer. There has to be accountability. Stop worshipping these lot, they are not worthy of your TC.

You are viewing BLA as a conventional force. First off, they were attacking places like Quetta. Even the most fanatic Baloch separatist knows he can't just take Quetta with a few dozen fighters. So obviously this was a fadayeen attack (i,e no return). In fact, BLA has never tried to "hold" areas. They usually hit and run or do suicide attacks.

The aim of this type of attacks is not to destroy a base or kill a dozen soldiers, that is a side effect. It is to create a negative atmosphere for the controlling government. Simply being able to conduct an attack like this is their victory. Just being able to recruit 100 people to do this attack is their success.

With such attacks, you further scare the average Pakistani from even CONSIDERING going to Balochistan for ANY reason, let alone investment. You also spook foreigners, like our Chinese engineer friends who get blown up every now and then.

Imagine not being able to visit a part of your own country unless you have some friend in military who can arrange convoy for you. So don't bean count that you have killed 100 or 200 terrorist. Its pointless.

At least 15 security officials and 18 civilians have been killed as armed men launched coordinated attacks across Pakistan’s Balochistan province, officials said, in the latest incident in the violence-hit southwest region.

Several police stations in the provincial capital of Quetta were targeted by alleged ethnic Baloch gunmen in an attack that began at about 3am local time on Saturday (22:00 GMT on Friday).

Pakistan has been battling a separatist movement in Balochistan for decades, where rebels target state forces, foreign nationals and non-locals in the mineral-rich province bordering Afghanistan and Iran.

The outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for Saturday’s attacks, according to a report by the AFP news agency. The group claimed to target military installations and police and civil administration officials in gun attacks and suicide bombings across nine districts of Balochistan. Pakistan’s largest but least-populated province.

Police officials in four districts told AFP that the attacks were not yet completely under control.

A senior official in Quetta told AFP that the group had abducted a deputy district commissioner.

A senior government official in another district said the group had “freed at least 30 inmates from a district jail, seizing firearms and ammunition. They also attacked a police station and took ammunition with them”.

An unnamed security official quoted by the AFP said it was a coordinated attack, which hit “more than 12 locations”. At least 92 BLA fighters were also killed, taking the toll to 133 fighters killed in the last 48 hours.

Shahid Rind, a spokesman for the Balochistan government, said most of the BLA attacks were foiled.

The circumstances surrounding the deaths of the civilians were not immediately clear. Baloch separatists have previously targeted civilians believed to have collaborated with state agencies.

A senior military official in Islamabad said the attacks were “coordinated but poorly executed”, adding that they had “failed due to poor planning and rapid collapse under effective security response”.

Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi said in a statement that the attacks were carried out by “Fitna al-Hindustan”, a phrase the government uses for the BLA, which he alleged is backed by the neighbouring archenemy, India.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for “foiling” the attacks, and accused India of backing the separatists. “We will continue the war against terrorism until its complete eradication,” he said in a statement.

New Delhi has not yet responded to the allegations.

Several members of the Pakistani security forces were reported to have been abducted during the attacks. Internet and train services have been suspended, while a security operation is under way.

Mobile phone services have also been jammed and traffic disrupted in the affected districts.

The attacks came a day after the military said it had killed 41 armed fighters in two separate operations in Balochistan.

“Over the past 12 months, security forces in Balochistan have sent more than 700 terrorists to hell, with around 70 terrorists eliminated in just the last two days alone,” said Sarfraz Bugti, Balochistan’s chief minister. “These attacks cannot weaken our resolve against terrorism.”

Balochistan has long been the site of a rebellion by separatist groups seeking independence from Pakistan’s central government in Islamabad. The province is the country’s poorest, despite an abundance of untapped natural resources.

Baloch separatist groups and the Pakistan Taliban, known by the acronym TTP, have intensified attacks in Pakistan in recent months. The TTP, while being a separate group, is believed to be allied with Afghanistan’s Taliban, which returned to power in August 2021.

Last year, ethnic Baloch separatists attacked a train with 450 passengers on board, prompting a two-day siege during which dozens of people were killed.

In August 2024, the rebels blew up bridges, stormed hotels and targeted security installations in assaults across the province that left dozens dead.
