I asked in the previous thread and I wana ask here. What's wrong with our domestically produced BD15, BD-08 and Type-56 rifles? Has there been any independent assesment that has confirmed that they suck?

I have seen one while in bd...so I guess trust me bro but I thought y'all know this so I didn't mention... also not interested in artillery guns as much as tanks and jets

ok didn't realize @Afif posted a photo :)
But artiller is extremely important, even in modern warfare. Russia is pounding the shit out of Ukraine, and Ukraine can't do much back because the combined artillery shell production (155mm) of Ukraine's supplier's can't match Russia's and North Korea's.

And I think tanks and jets would be less useful for us than cheap drones, light armoured vehicles, missiles.

Might be second regiment of VT-5 for BA. (Going through trial in China somewhere)
I've read that they're gonna use these VT-5 to replace our T-69s and T-59s. Do you think they should be replaced, even after the massive overhauls and upgrades they went through?
Yes, there's a limit to how much you can upgrade an old vehicle, but I think there's always a value to a heavily armored, mobile, long range, heavy weapons platform. Instead of using them in a tank's capacity, I think they can still be utilised.

They aren't replacing them with VT-5. They are equipping newly raised armoured regiments with 7th and 10th Divisions. Potentially a third VT-5 regiment is planned to be raised with 17th Division within force goal 2030.

Where do you guys get your latest news about defence sector and acquisitions of Bangladesh?

Russians are evolving their idividual soldiers protective equipments with lessons from war in Ukraine. They focused on protecting their soldiers from artillery fragments. Which are the main cause of casualties in modern combat.
.
After watching this I feel, if we want to modernize our military we have to start from scratch. Like starting with adoption of a modern joint common standard infantry cartridge caliber...

Question: Is there any X account that specifically focuses on Bangladesh's defence industry?

Its probably CSAR and Medevac. There are better dedicated helicopters for attacking role. And for troop transport, they should buy the Chinooks.
