Army operation against UPDF (Main) armed group in Baghaichhari

Dhaka, 29 July 2025 (Tuesday): Based on specific intelligence information, an operation was conducted by the Baghaihat Zone of the Bangladesh Army against the armed forces of UPDF (Main) in an area called Narendra Karbari Tripura Para today at 0330 hours. Based on the information received, during the operation, the armed group, realizing the presence of the army, opened fire on the army patrol team and tried to escape, and at one point there was a heavy exchange of fire between the two sides. After conducting a search, the army patrol team recovered 1 submachine gun (SMG), 3 locally made guns, 1 LG, 1 sub machine gun magazine, 1 pouch, 7 rounds of ammunition, 17 empty shells, 25 empty shells of SMG of different lots, 2 cartridges, 4 walkie-talkies, 1 Motorola set, 4 walkie-talkie chargers, 2 cameras, 1 spy camera sunglasses, 1 spy camera device charger, 3 pen drives, 4 flags of the UPDF organization, 5 arm bands of the UPDF organization and 12 different types of books from the scene.

The Bangladesh Army is determined to protect the safety of life and property of all ethnic groups in the Chittagong Hill Tracts and will continue its strict campaign against armed groups in the future.
 
Every officer in the BD military used to have multiple postings in the CHT. It was no joke. With a great patience a network of bases, even in the most remote places, to carry out COIN ops in the most inhospitable jungle conditions (infested with all sorts of tropical diseases like celebral malaria) was established. And, it was pretty successful to foil the Bharati nefarious plans.....

*On a personal note: an uncle of mine had his units stationed at different locations in the CHT. He used to have operational maps (not that secret of course) hanging from the walls in his bedroom. And, his bedside table used to have scores of secured comms equipment.

Yesterday, 3 tourists in Khagrachari were abducted and later recovered. It is being alleged that kidnappers are local Awami league leader. Their objective was most likely to portray it as an abduction by the Tribal community and stir up new violence in an already sensitive region.

I don't think its the ethnic people that are the problem anymore. The vast majority of them are good people, and are Bangladeshi citizens. The only ones we're being soft on are Awami League and other India supporters. I hope these people all get rounded up and shot, no questions asked.

Army operation in Khagrachari to curb terrorism, terrorists along with weapons and ammunition arrested

Dhaka, 15 August 2025 (Friday): Based on specific intelligence information, a special operation was conducted in the Garidana area of Manikchhari upazila of Khagrachari district at 0600 hours today under the leadership of Sindukchhari Zone. In the operation, a local terrorist Ismail Hossain was arrested with 2 LGs and 5 rounds of cartridges.

Later, based on the information provided by the arrested Ismail Hossain, another operation was immediately conducted to arrest top terrorist Kongchai Marma in Shantinagar area of Khagrachari district. Sensing the presence of the security forces, Kongchai Marma fired 1 round of bullets at the security forces from the roof of a three-storey building and at one point, unable to escape, he jumped from the roof. The rescued Kongchai Marma was quickly taken to the nearest hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. It is believed that he died after jumping from the roof. 1 9 mm pistol, 5 LG, 21 cartridges and 18 pistol bullets were recovered from the scene. The autopsy of the body is currently under process. It is worth noting that Kangchai Marma had created a reign of terror in the Khagrachari area for a long time through various terrorist activities. There are multiple kidnapping allegations against the said terrorist.

The Bangladesh Army is committed to maintaining peace, security and stability in the hilly region and such operations will continue to counter terrorism.

We all know who are funding these terrorists, just like the ones in Pakistan's Balochistan.
Government should take steps. We should in turn fund insurgents inside India. It'd be best if we do this in coordination with Pakistan's ISI. As long as terrorist attacks happen in Pakistan and Bangladesh, we should return in kind in India.

As for their status in CHT region, I think we bengalis oppress them too much. I think the Jumma peoples deserve some increased autonomy, and that all Bengali settlers should be banned from CHT people.
 
As for the Rohingyas, I think we have lost the right to whine about Palestine or point fingers at the UAE with how useless we have proven to be on the Rohingya issue.

We should join the Myanmar civil war on the side of the Junta and help ARSA and RSO cleanse Rakhine of the Arakan Army

This isn't how you handle criminals. Just allow local bengalis, Muslim Tripuras and Chakmas to carry arms. Every hill tracks problem will be solved with minimal life loss and investment.

Why should local Bengalis carry arms in CHT?
Why "Muslim" tripuras and not other tripurans?
No bengali settlers should be allowed in CHT, and the ones there should be removed.
If any upojati accepts islam, they should be helped to move out of CHT, not given arms.
That would make us look like tyrants.

All the way back in 2023, Bangladesh military started training Kuki Zo militias (and Rohingya ones).

This is just one of their grievances. There is context to be added here too.

To get a real understanding, we have to go way back.

Back in the day, they even had their own king. They had a palace once which is now submerged under Kaptai Lake. Word is that the Chakma people were supposed to receive compensation from the then Government of Pakistan. But this promise never materialized for reasons unexplained.

Fast forward to the war of 1971, there were were a certain ratio of Chakmas who supported the West Pakistani military's operations in the then East Pakistan in the hopes of perhaps getting the promised compensation along with other benefits. A carrot on a stick approach. That never materialized for reasons we now know. It is estimated that Shanti Bahini were created shortly after the war.

In post independence Bangladesh under the leadership of Bongubondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Chakmas were seen with great suspicion due to their support of the West Pakistanis. Even going as far as saying 'tui Bangali ho!'

During the leadership of Ziaur Rahman, he settled Bengalis into the Chittagong Hill Tracts region. Lands were taken. While the Chakmas protested these settlement efforts, the BNP pushed even more. This created much discontent among the Chakmas. It was during this period when the insurgency was most intense.

Now, I believe the IG can resolve this peacefully while keeping the law & order. This should not be too difficult. We just need to keep an open mind.

The Interim Government's hands are tied, when the majority of Bangladeshis would just prefer the chakmas quietly going extinct.

That's why this thread is needed.
To argue for the case in favor of the Jummah peoples of the CHT region, so that we don't turn into jalems or taghuts like india or pakistan.
Only when we truly oppose injustice can there be peace.

These could have been obtained from the US backed rebels in Burma. M4s are US item.

That gives india a plausible deniability by simply saying M4 is a American product.

Only india is actively working to destabilize our CHT area...
