Exertion of true sovereignty is portrayed as "islamism", thus mandating a response.
Acquiescence to the whims of a foreign power is, contrarily, portrayed as "mature statehood", "rule of law", or "progressive economic policy".

Chief of Army Staff Visits Army Camps in the Chittagong Hill Tracts
Dhaka, 29 October 2026 (Thursday): Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, SBP, OSP, SGP, PSC, visited the Khagrachhari Region in the Chittagong Hill Tracts today to inspect army camps located in this remote, hilly terrain. During the visit, he inspected an army camp under the Baghaichhari Zone within the Khagrachhari Region.
While interacting with the deployed personnel, the Chief of Army Staff inquired about various aspects of their operational duties. He commended the soldiers for their dedication and sincerity in maintaining peace, stability, and security in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, despite the challenging environment and limited facilities. Furthermore, he instructed all personnel to continue performing their assigned duties with the utmost professionalism, vigilance, and sense of responsibility.
The visit was attended by the Engineer-in-Chief of the Army; the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 24th Infantry Division and Area Commander of the Chittagong Area; as well as senior military officials from Army Headquarters and the respective area, alongside army personnel of various ranks.

India has lots of spaces in Bangladesh, I wouldn't bet on the "won't" just yet.
You need to fully detach yourself from India, that process is not complete. So, right now, I would say India can do a lot in Bangladesh. But it comes at a cost, which is why they're treading on egg shells.
For Bangladesh, It's a choice between hard purposeful decisions or eternal servitude. So far your state has been pretty impressive in how they have operated post Awami league, it's not Hasina that matters, it's the servitude attitude of the Awami league.

Exchange of Fire with Criminals During a Joint Operation Against a Human Trafficking Ring in Teknaf: Army Soldier Killed
Dhaka, 05 November 2026 (Thursday): Intelligence sources indicated that an armed human trafficking group, consisting of 15–16 individuals, was holding approximately 120 Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals hostage in the remote, hilly terrain of Rangikhali, located in the Teknaf Upazila of Cox’s Bazar. Acting on this information, a joint task force—comprising personnel from the Bangladesh Army’s 10th Infantry Division, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and the local police—arrived at the scene at approximately 5:00 PM. Upon detecting the presence of the joint forces, the armed traffickers opened indiscriminate fire, leading to an exchange of gunfire between the two sides.
During the exchange, Bangladesh Army soldier Md. Titas Sheikh (27) sustained a critical gunshot wound to his left shoulder, resulting in severe blood loss. He was immediately rescued and taken to a nearby hospital for initial treatment; he was subsequently transferred to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Ramu for advanced medical care, where the attending physician declared him dead.
During the operation, one pistol, one locally-made firearm, and four rounds of ammunition were recovered from the site. Additionally, five members of the human trafficking ring were apprehended, and 57 hostages were rescued.
The Bangladesh Army remembers with profound respect the sacrifice of this young soldier, who laid down his life while serving the nation. The Bangladesh Army prays for the eternal peace of his departed soul and extends its deepest condolences to his bereaved family.
