BCCCI inks MoU to enhance Bangladesh–China vocational, skills cooperation​

DHAKA, Jan 4, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Beijing Ark Galaxy Technology Co., Ltd. and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) with a view to strengthening bilateral cooperation in vocational education, skills development, and human resource capacity building.

The MoU was signed on Saturday at the BCCCI Office in the city with aims to establish a long-term and sustainable cooperative framework between affiliated vocational institutions of Bangladesh and leading vocational institutions of China, said a press release.

Under this strategic partnership, the parties will collaborate on technical training programs, institutional exchanges, technology sharing, and capacity development initiatives, thereby contributing to industrial growth and workforce modernization in both countries.

BCCCI President Mohd. Khorshed Alam, General Manager of Beijing Ark Galaxy Technology Co., Ltd. Yue Xueshan and Deputy General Manager of CCECC Bangladesh Ltd. (China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation) Lu Yong attended the signing ceremony.

On behalf of BCCCI, the event was also attended by Secretary General Jamilur Rahman, Advisor to President Md Faizul Alam, Vice President Khandaker Atiqur Rahman, Vice President Masud Ali Khan, Director Asif Haque Rupo, Executive Director Md Abu Taher and Dr. Md. Sadi, Principal, Yidai Yilu Chinese Institute.

The presence of senior representatives from all participating organizations reflected the growing momentum of Bangladesh–China collaboration in education, industry, and workforce development, reaffirming a shared commitment to deepening bilateral relations and advancing sustainable economic growth through skilled manpower development.

This MoU represents a significant milestone in strengthening institutional cooperation and fostering long-term partnerships aimed at supporting inclusive development and industrial competitiveness.

In addition, the US committed to establishing a mechanism for certain textile and apparel goods from Bangladesh using US produced cotton and man-made fiber to receive zero reciprocal tariff in US market.
