Businesses should be allowed to operate in peace.

Beauty and danger of the internet.
Sitting on his box selling pakoras at Mumbai station - managing to get access to the internet - pretending to be an internet global travelling warrior.

"Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) recently claimed that between $12 billion and $15 billion has been siphoned out of the country annually over the past 15 years.

Their findings align closely with estimates from the White Paper Committee, which suggests that an average of $14 billion per year were laundered abroad during Sheikh Hasina's administration."

That amounts to over 150 billion dollars lost in Hasina era due to money laundering. Just trying to imagine what we could have achieved if most of that money stayed in the economy.

They are not putting it all on AL. Some of the stuff like over invoicing and asking buyers to send full or partial payment to a different foreign bank account have been going on for a while.

S Alam stole all the money from Islami Bank and this bank always received the most foreign remittances. He created fake foreign import invoices to send the the money abroad. So he didn’t have to work hard to even steal the money!!

One of the theory of stealing money from infrastructure project is that, for example Summit group the local partner ( with an overseas company)of the foreign contractor inflated project cost but 30-40% and then somehow got paid from the main contractor.

Remittance is the lifesaver for us. Our government should invest more on Polytechnic Institutes instead of non STEM universities. We need skilled workforce...

It is
But i think its a pity young jobless bangladeshis have to go to Gulf for a job that fosent pay too well. When BD could have had manufacturing and service sector to provide those jobs.

Too many incompentent politcians and administration personell. But hopefully this is avout to change.
