Bangladesh Keen To Join Saudi-Pak-Turkey Defence Alliance, Says PM's Top Aide

sir in war how to provide logistic support thats the only point my mind is not comprehending.we lost 1971 because of logistic problem . same is the case now. in war like situation how to send aoldiers and weapons if there is no land corridor no air corridor .

Sir, I believe the age of manpower assistance is long outdated and a straw man, Indians invoke this because they can psychologically reduce alliances, it's irrelevant mostly

Advanced weaponry and smaller highly skilled military professionals goes far enough

Imagine Chinese jets and surveillance systems on the Eastern flank, providing intelligence treaty bound, that's worth nothing

Not everyone has to contribute the same way and amount.

China has the opportunity to castrate India if Bangladesh buys Chinese

Turkey gets to extend influence to South Asia, plus weaponry

Pakistan gets to spread India thinner

I have been following Bangladeshi Military for basically 30 years now.

They were a basket case then, and are still the same basket case now, nothing much has changed with them and I don't think Pakistan should waste their valuable time time them at all(not for me to decide of course!).

There are bigger, and more important fish to fry. Helping rebuild Syria is of far more actual strategic importance to Pakistan materially, let that be the focus if people are looking for a "development" project to invest their time in.

I guess also India has the leverage of geography over Bangladesh so how committed can they be

Are you mentally challenged jeet?

That's literally what Pakistan needs at maximum. We dont need their manpower.

You don't need a defense pact to buy weapons or ask for loans.

Pakistan had been doing that for entire existence both during peace and at times of war.

That's why I firmly believe that this pact is an attention seeking charade, with no clearly defined or even a common enemy.

And Ironic part here is the more members it has, the weaker it would become.

India and Israel.

Turkey and Saudi are immediately threatened by Israel.

India is Israel's ally as well as taking hostile positions to turkey, hence Pakistan covers that base more than naturally.

It's completely symbiotic in that sense, because at least one of the 3 member's has direct enmity with at least one of Israel and India.

Repeat that slowly.

No, I am saying this defense pact is a charade.

They will be no Turks and there will be no Saudis in Pakistan's fight againt India. They might provide weapons or money, but that will be the extent of it.

You should ask your PM & military command to actually test this theory right now........then u guys can declare it a "charade".

But the threat of Bangladesh's assault on india will still not go away. If the Bengali's nation gets angry it won't end well for india.......

You guys have pissed off all your neighbors, next time u guys will be facing hostility from all borders as everyone will come for their piece of the pie and revenge

The pact does not need more man power, It has enough of that already, it needs hard military capability now and collaborative technology development for the future. Bangladesh brings neither to the table. It is now, and will be for decades to come, a military basket case.

As of now, the Bangladeshi air force operates 8 x Mig29's( which all measure of news reports, are virtually non operational due to servicing issues of the engines ) and 34 x F7BG's which by all measure can just about fire spit balls at other jets... Lets not even look at their "navy", or what passes for the "army)...

Let's agree to disagree on this - and you can see for your self how this "potential" Bangladesh "evolves militarily - if ever!" ..
I still think that is all secondary. Id like to see Pak, Turkiye, SA take concrete steps in integrating their C&C, theater defence, increased partnerships in military training, procurement, they need to have common systems and a few real life use cases to see how they react before the pact increases.

My worry is adding new members without the PACT maturing into something meaningful will end up creating a weak and useless block.

Worst thing would be if tiny states like Qatar , Kuwait and Bahrain ( if they become part of the alliance) get an equal say and power to derail the consensus.

There is only one nation that threatens Saudi Arabia and that is Iran and who has literally bombed Saudi Arabia in the recent past.

Pakistan has no stomach to open another front against an another one of its neighbors or even act against one of Iran's proxies which continue to attack the Saudis.

So, so much for the Mecca defense pact and its punch line of

"An attack on one is an attack on all."

India and Israel are friends and trade partners, just like India and Saudi Arabia or India and Iran.

On the other hand no one actually threatens Turkey. They are just an opportunist trying to establish itself a middle power.

Not that long ago Turkey was trying form a rival Sunni block with Pakistan and Malaysia, when Saudi shut it down.
