Bangladesh Socio-Political Crisis 2024 and onwards

I was of that position myself initially.

But after discussions and contemplations - I reminded myself that BAL won't play fairly and they will have almost unlimited resources to buy their way into power. We may have had a revolution, but the nature of our people did not change and it won't overnight. Corruption is still rampant. BAL has unlimited resources and backing of a foreign power.

Any avenue for BAL to make a comeback means they could seriously comeback by not playing fair.

Since they won't play fair, we don't need to be noble to them either.

I think Interim government will be able to hold free and fair election. BAL won't be able to jeopardize that.

BAL is regrouping in india with help of RAW. They are planning to destabilize Bangladesh. Yunus Admin is hyper slow at removing BAL maggots from admin and security positions.
.
Except economic front Yunus administration has failed to address current challenges.
.
Mark my words, if we don't kill entire BAL leadership (my be couple of 1000s), not just BAL will destabilize BD, india will be able to reimpose BAL on us.

Very possible. There are many talking about a sinister plan for counter coup being hatched.

Came across this guy's video (in Bengali) -

The info he has been sharing is really scary.

He calls out both Asif Nazrul and also Foreign Advisor Touhid.

The fact that FA Touhid parroted the exact same line wrt 1971 apology to cause a barrier between BD Pak relationship - makes me convinced this guy has BAL loyalty.

Pinaki had called out this guy FA advisor long ago as one to be kept on watch.

Plus now BNP Mirza Fakhrul now talking about allowing BAL participation in the election. Things are not looking good.

Bro, that is a bad deduction.

BAL will never change. It has been consistent in that for the last 50 years at least. It has fascism in its DNA and is a terrorist organization or at least its student wing is. Every time they were forced out of politics they learnt nothing and did the same thing all over again.

I am often puzzled by George Soros and his objectives. This is a photo of Soros' son with Yunus which one social media personality found objection to -

Anti-Discrimination Student Movement: 17 coordinators, co-coordinators of JU resign

Seventeen coordinators and co-coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement at Jahangirnagar University have resigned, citing allegations of partisan behavior and actions contrary to the spirit of the mass uprising.

In a press conference held at the university's Teachers-Students Center (TSC) on Thursday afternoon, the coordinators announced their decision to step down. Among those who resigned were the central coordinator Abdur Rashid and other prominent figures like Rudra Muhammad Safiullah, Hasib Zaman, and Zahidul Islam.

In a written statement, Abdur Rashid stated that the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, which initially focused on quota reforms, later evolved into an anti-fascism movement based on a nine-point demand. Despite the formation of an interim government following the fall of the fascist regime, the movement has remained largely silent on crucial issues such as banning partisan student politics, bringing to justice those involved in the July killings, and providing compensation to the injured and victims.

Rashid expressed concern that the movement had become more like a ruling party's student organisation.

Furthermore, Rashid criticised the movement's failure to unite all levels of protesters under a single banner and represent various universities. He argued that the continued existence of the movement was undermining the historical participation of people from all professions, strata, and political affiliations.

The resigning coordinators also accused some of their colleagues of prioritising personal interests and failing to represent Jahangirnagar University on a national level. They pointed to the lynching and subsequent death of former BCL leader Shamim Mollah, where video footage implicated several coordinators.

Abdur Rashid emphasised that the second independence achieved on August 5 was a collective victory and not the accomplishment of any single group. He pledged to continue working to uphold the spirit of this new Bangladesh, which was born from the sacrifices of thousands.

Politics is a negotiation and not a zero-sum game. However, the AL and its allies in New Delhi understand this not with regards to Bangladesh.

People are apprehensive about the AL remnants, and for good reason. They are not going to change their ways. They have the money and the means to impose their narrative with the goal of attaining unlimited power while living a life of lies and falsehoods.

Now, if we look back at history, the AL always had been an integral part of New Delhi's policy in the run up of Bangladesh's independence. Did we really think all those Indian soldiers died in the fields of East Pakistan out of the goodness of their hearts? The Agaratala Conspiracy was true even though they denied it. Their sole goal was to create a satellite state with none other than the AL in power. That failed in 1975. Forwarding to 2007, I assumed that a 30 year idea was too backdated then. Boy, was I wrong. It failed again in 2024.

Forward to today, Dr. Yunus given his global goodwill has met with key world leaders in the recent UNGA with the exception of Modi. What does that tell us? It tells me that they don't have the best of intentions. The simple reason is that the AL had been an integral part of their policy in Bangladesh for over 50 years and now have run out of all options. They never kept any other option with regards to Bangladesh. Still, they could have said hi/hello. Their approach is not helpful though.

Man, you guys are so hell bent on banning BAL! Politics and power struggle at Supreme level are not for us. Its for cool headed people who are able to think in the long term and can formate strategies without letting emotional impulses cloud their judgment.

BAL getting its ass whooped in a free and fair election would kill their narrative at home and aboard far more effectively than just trying to 'force stop' it.

The IG has amended the International Crimes Tribunal Act with a provision to ban a political party for 10 years if found guilty. Right now, the AL has been accused of many crimes against humanity. The IG have said that they will not get opportunities to exercise political activities until a trial is completed. A UN investigation team is now working on the nitty-gritty stuff.

I think he said it to appear good. To show people that the BNP care and are not like AL. But it also shows these guys are really out of touch with young people. If one can't connect with young people, they cannot make any meaningful impact. In other words, the BNP are a useless party. The BNP in my view are ill-equipped to deal with the challenges of the 21st century. This is no longer the 90s.

I suspect that both AL and India are working together to undermine the IG and our rights as citizens. Rumors has it that Mossad are helping RAW with training given the recent setbacks in Bangladesh. Given the history of their intelligence activities back in the 1950s and their current habits, the outlook is not good for Bangladesh. The only limiting factor for India in this regard is money and immunity from accountability. Though, I have my skepticism with regards to the rumor, but we can't be too careful.

That being said, I believe some sort of mechanism should be in place to contain the AL if not outrightly banned overnight for the sake of our security and our rights as citizens. I am not sure if the current actions taken by the IG will suffice. But I hope they do. Many key AL leaders are still in hiding. Currently no US/EU/UN sanctions against key members. But these take time. These sanctions on key individuals and their affiliates can greatly deter their ability to cause trouble elsewhere. I believe we should have a sanctions program of our own in collaboration with key international partners. Make sanctions screening mandatory for all institutions as part of their BAU (business as usual).

The Indian deep-state are now the number one enemy with regards to the vision of a truly sovereign and independent Bangladesh.

I am not a fan of banning political parties. However, AL has its tentacles being pulled by the neighbor. This poses a security threat. As you can see the entire AL high command is in India. It poses a clear and present danger to national sovereignty.
I personally think Kader Siddiki should have been brought to justice. He had his loyalty to an individual and not to the nation.

Siddique is a pawn.

People like Majibur Rahman are a clear danger to this nation. The IG should ask for his immediate extradition in light of his crimes.

Other than that, I think the existing AL members should find a way to co-exist, with young people in particular. If one doesn't connect with young people, they are not going anywhere.

Removing the Sheikh family from the AL equation would be realistic. It is a tall order, but they have no options should they wish to exist. Their priority should be the nation over a single individual family/foreign entity.

If they do not remove the Sheikh family, they are just one of those weird cults we see on movies in anime doing all sorts of weird stuff.

I am going to borrow Donald Rumsfeld quote
One of Donald Rumsfeld's most famous quotes is:

"There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is, there are things we know that we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. These are things we don't know that we don't know."

I am about the last one. It’s about the entrenched threat we don’t know. These are the folks who are being used as loyalist, by means of blackmailing ( recorded phone calls) , and what not.
