Bangladesh Socio-Political Crisis 2024 and onwards

Not only that, destruction and vandalizing of Hindu temples are mostly carried out by BAL and they then blame BNP and Jamat. This has been their dirty politics for a very long time.

Reluctantly agree he spoke powerfully and to the point.

I still want to keep away from his affiliations.

BAL has been protesting in Gopalganj and vandalized some military cars. Army response below. Ah how satisfying.

This is the type of culture that BD needs to eliminate.

BA is just acting like thugs here by beating these vandals.

They should have been detained and then prosecuted as per law.

If the army does not respect the law, then why should the common man or woman.

You know what the funny (tragic) thing is.

If the current temporary government dosent announce elections within a year, BNP AL and Jamaat will unite and take on to the street. Vandalise public property and scream «dictatorship» with full lungs on all internatiobal fora.

Instead of targeting Hasina league loyalists Bangladesh need to put system in place for peaceful transition of power by elections. No govt is good forever and people eventually get sick of same govt after 10 years.

Between Yunus, BNP, Awami League, Jatiya , Jamaat and military junta , who will be most pro-west and who will be most pro-China ?

With all goodwill for Bangladesh as a country, with full empathy for the trauma that the Bangladeshi has been subjected to by the traumatised daughter who lost her parents and all but one other sibling at the hands of assassins, this is a fact that the Bangladeshi man and woman in the street must recognise.

Whether understood or not is another step; whether sympathised with, or not, is yet another step.

This is the basic recognition.

When an eminent Bangladeshi member includes in his joyful post the cry, "Nara e takbeer, Allahu Akbar", he cannot expect to have any Bangladeshi Hindu to be with him. Not against him, perhaps, but certainly not with him.

That is why the BNP, with its indelible bond with the Jamaat, whichever partner be senior and which junior set apart, is unlikely to have much support from Bangladeshi Hindus. Hardly to be set at the doors of Hindus, and hardly a reason to intimidate them.

There is absolutely no reason to chant that outside of a religious gathering!

No reason to chant that on the road or public space.

Religious chauvinism - nothing more!

But Hindus of Bangladesh need to recognise that, unlike India, prominent Bangladeshi politicians aren’t inciting violence against minorities.

Which is the case in most of Europe, U.K., USA, India and Sri Lanka.

It think it more about AL being better at presenting itself as a minority friendly. BNP for some reasons arent interested in that but they arent anything minority unfiendly. Jamaat mostly dosent seem to care about anything other than islamic and muslim issues, again really aloof about non-muslims, for the most.

The BD political landscape is strange. BNP and AL is almost identical on most political issues. Small parties like Jatio Party arent different from BNP AL either.

There’s not much disagreement on core issues. Parties are homogeneous like the population.

It’s all about the cult of Mujib and Zia.

Two extremely flawed leaders - undeserving of their Lincoln esque worship!

Younus is a US shill.
Military is pro China.

Hence there will be pressure on Younus.

I think we should give him the benefit of the doubt.

He is likely to just try to reform the political and administrative structure of BD to allow democracy to work in BD.

Unless we bring in pure PR - nothing will change.

Bal and BNP have brainwashed 2/3 of population.

Only 1/3 are truly independent.

PR will make the genuine independents king makers.
