Yes. This is called mob rule. Or in the case of sports, giving in to hooliganism.Bangladeshi players shouldn't be allowed to play in IPL as a popular demand.

I had to look it up shiv Sena threat lmao because it wasn't showing up. Yeah found it on Instagram, a shiv Sena Gurugram unit. My family has more members than Shiv Sena Gurugram unit. The point being, you trying to make a mountain out of molehill and it's going to backfire on you. BCCI decision is because of larger public interest, not some uncle aunty unit in Gurugram. There was an uproar when Bangladeshi players were selected the public opinion was against your country. Like I said, you have no idea how the public opinion is against you. You're trying to pin it on Hindutva without realising this.
There is a general anti BD sentiment cultivating among the fans which isn't good. The timing of all these is very wrong. Why r Indian spectators suddenly so angry about Fizz playing for KKR? He’s just a cricketer, too innocent to be dragged into all this nonsensical political drama.
Whatever dude, your players ain't playing in IPL for now. BCCI bowed down to the public demand. Not some random Bittu from Gurugram. Indian grounds are safe even if BCCI is going to defy the public.Couldn't care less which unit of Shiv Shena the threat came from. There is a threat from a terrorist organization with history of interfering in Cricket and BCCI chose to bow down to that.
BCB is well within its right to think about the safety of the cricketers. Especially when India pulled this same stunt multiple times in the last few years.
You're entitled to your opinion. But IPL watchers are the public so yeah they get a say in who plays in it.Yes. This is called mob rule. Or in the case of sports, giving in to hooliganism.
These nonsense reasonings might work on people who are not familiar with subcontinent.Read the sequence of events below. Any more trolling I am opening up the points book.
1. Mustafiz bought by KKR.
2. A mob lynching happened in Bangladesh which turns out to be not religiously motivated. The murder of Dipu Das.
3. Hindutva Shiv Sena threatens both Shahrukh Khan and Mustafiz. Threatens to invade pitches during IPL. They have a history of doing it in the past during India Pakistan match.
4. BCCI caves in to the Hindutva threats and asks KkR to pull contract.
5. BCB now realizes that BCCI is unable to guarantee security for a single player, therefore likely unable to provide security for the entire team.
6. BCB makes formal request to change venue
Let's go further - in The Secular Republic of India, the whole damned mob is "the public".You're entitled to your opinion. But IPL watchers are the public so yeah they get a say in who plays in it.
Man you're all over the place. Read things in simple terms don't overthink it. The Prime Minister of India is not loosing his sleep over IPL or T20 world cup. Neither is HM Amit Shah. The issue is rather simple, public outrage regarding BD affairs and general anti BD sentiments forced BCCI to drop a BD player. The Bangladeshis didn't like it and is making a furore. BCCI did the smart thing.Let's go further - in The Secular Republic of India, the whole damned mob is "the public".
How did we reach this point?
We have discussed the central unifying issue many times on other threads.
The central flaw in BJP's eternal strategy of "stupefying" its electorate into blind obedience of its Bollywoodised civilisational narratives is that this same loyal vote base that it can always rely on will impulsively latch onto any issue it perceives to be threatening to the "identity of India" (as per their definition) and its actions thereafter cannot be predicted, even by those saffronists who originally incited the mob.
Always two sides to the coin with governance by indoctrinated obedience of the semi-literate.
Can these IPL viewers actually be reasoned with in terms of what course of action is truly in India's interests in this particular case? Can BCCI or Amit Shah's beta or IPL or Modi even try to reverse this decision if they deemed it to be counterproductive after further consultations? Imagine the uproar from General Bakshi sahib alone!
I would argue that the BJP hierarchy are probably stuck in a corner thanks to the very same mob they all helped nourish over the decades.
What you're arguing for is collective responsibility and punishment, which is a self defeatist strategy.Time to use all that influence you have in ICC, power is useless if you don't use it. If some county club level board can threaten BCCI other tiny boards will start acting up.
Playing in IPL is not a right, it's a privilege. After spreading hate against India online, do you think Indians will be okay to have Bangladeshi players playing in IPL? The audience is outraged which forced BCCI to release the BD player. That should've been it in fact stupid BCCI shouldn't have had BD players in the roaster but despite all that gotta give it to the Hakla boi to not read the room and select a BD player for $1 million.
Why have institutions in the first place then, if they're beholden to public opinionAnd nobody deserves an explanation for release of Mustafizur. Indian fans didn't want it, we allayed our dispute with BCCI by being vocal in public forums, the BCCI acted on it. This is the chronology of events and it's rather simple.
In an ideal world your arguments would make perfect sense. But BCCI and IPL runs on money, not on righteousness. If BCCI is threatened with an economic loss they are going to bend. Is this righteous? No. It is simply a better business decision. It's a lose - lose situation do you want to anger BD fans who are already angry with whatever about India, or you want to anger Indian fans, after BD spreading those hate online, you want India to accept BD players making money off IPL and thereby fans boycotting the game. No.What you're arguing for is collective responsibility and punishment, which is a self defeatist strategy.
If For the sin of some individuals all should be punished, then the same logic would apply to us as well. It validates the hate Indians have been receiving for the actions of some in other countries
Why have institutions in the first place then, if they're beholden to public opinion
Public opinion is no justification as it tends to forego mature strategic thinking for short term goals which prove to be impediments in the long term
This anti BD sentiment is being driven by the fascist RSS government.. and their media goons not the public.. pied piper plays the flute and the rats follow…There is a general anti BD sentiment cultivating among the fans which isn't good. The timing of all these is very wrong.
Unbelievable! A minute ago, "public opinion" was all that mattered. Now it's "economics" that are once again defaulted to. The contradictions here and switching of the argument are stunning, even by your standards. If BCCI is threatened with an economic loss they are going to bend. Is this righteous? Lol! I could say the same about BD. Each side feeds on this for political gains. This anti BD sentiment is being driven by the fascist RSS government.. and their media goons not the public.. pied piper plays the flute and the rats follow…
Duh! Public opinion is what drives revenue and profit. What did you think when I said Public opinion? That BCCI is facing an election in February?Unbelievable! A minute ago, "public opinion" was all that mattered. Now it's "economics" that are once again defaulted to. The contradictions here and switching of the argument are stunning, even by your standards.
Tell us, oh Adam Smith of the east, why forego a TV market of hundreds of millions of Bd cricket fans, TV and media revenues from Bd companies, and gate receipts from Bd fans, all for the whims of the mob? Why not deploy the army and control them?
Economically, it would have made far more sense to simply control the mob.
Can you merge with T20 WC threadMOD EDIT
Situation escalated and the issue warrants a new thread.

Indians can't guarantee Fizz protection from the Hindutva terrorists. So BCCI asked KKR to drop Fizz.
BCB should demand for all t20 World cup Bangladeshi matches to be played in Sri Lanka. Clearly Indians are not capable of protecting a single player, let alone the entire team.
