Hasina messed up in July and the economy has been struggling for the last 4 years.

BD government had an unsaid "deal" with the BD population that in return for economic growth and jobs, they will get the right to rule.

Once this arrangement no longer held then she was turfed out but this was mainly her fault for bringing in the quota arrangement for "freedom fighters".

Without Covid-19 and Ukraine war, Hasina would still be entrenced as the leader of BD with not even the tiniest threat to her rule.
