(CDF / COAS)'s Desk

Only fools try to cut off the branch they are sitting at. How can Pakistan break brotherly relationship with friendly countries that have always supported us in need. We need to get more countries on our side rather than pushing away those already on our side. What a foolish approach!

Which friend will threaten you with consequences if you want to make ties with other nations? What a moronic mind set you got.

you do it because you’re hosting him as a dignitary. Regardless of how your public feels UK military has invited him as COAS Pakistan and they are saluting that.

If he comes to the US - he will get salutes as well regardless of how bellicose you scream out at his motorcade. Unless UK PM says otherwise - its protocol
The indignant objection from you wasn't for the poor UK foot soldiers saluting Asim the butcher of Islamabad, they would have saluted even Hitler if Churchill had been a bit more pragmatic.

The consternation on your part was in response to the pesky overseas Pakistani who thought Asim deserved a welcome more commensurate with his egregious brutality, which is the antithesis of your view on the situation, i.e. whatever Asim does is his divine right under the providence of being the Chief of Army Staff, an office which is in your estimation is slightly below god if not on par.

Salute the rank and not the man is a cheesy line only fit for hollywood or a military force that is answerable to the people through their fairly elected public representative, not those having delusions of being little gods on earth.

Every decision the army takes is with careful consideration. He is a COAS and should be respected.

I would question a civilian's loyalty but never the fauj. There is always a good reason for every action they make.

That traitor you have as your avatar stupidly told the faujis to stay in the barracks and there's no decision making for them.

A belicose rant - that has little relevance to protocol - nor the reality of your gods to be giving a rats ass about you even existing. They are busy building moated castles while you pick your aimless online fights in some feeble attempt at validation.

At the end, the people there don’t give a shit to do anything beyond what you do - they are busy just surviving or planning their exits - so just like you the maximum they do is huff and puff online, abuse and accuse everyone of worshipping hafiz jee since you and your genetic strain cannot do anything about him - neither can anyone from Pakistan.

Time to accept the pathetic reality of your genetics or continue imaginary fist fights against everyone else because that is truly the only ones you can say anything to in a 1-1 conversation.

Sad - useless - and frankly irrelevant to your life anyway.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir was awarded a ceremonial guard of honour during his visit to the United Kingdom, according to a statement by the military’s media wing.

The army chief is set to participate in the seventh Regional Stabilisation Conference at the esteemed Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where he will deliver the keynote address on ‘The Emerging World Order and Pakistan’s Future Outlook’, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in the statement.

The annual conference serves as a platform for military dialogue between Pakistan and the UK to foster collaboration, bringing together policymakers, both civilian and military, as well as members of prominent think tanks from both countries.

“The COAS will engage with key members of the UK’s civil and military leadership to discuss matters of mutual interest,” the statement said, adding that he will hold meetings with Chief of Defence Staff UK Adm Toney Radikon, Chief of the General Staff of the British Army General Sir Roland Walker and UK National Security Advisor Jonathan Nicholas Powell.

The army chief will also meet Home Secretary Yvette Cooper to discuss shared challenges and foster deeper collaboration.

Pakistan and the UK share a long-standing relationship rooted in strong diplomatic, economic, and security ties. Over the years, the two countries’ militaries have maintained robust cooperation, particularly in the domains of counterterrorism and professional training, the statement noted.

Gen Munir will also visit prominent units of the British Army, including the Land Warfare Centre and the 1st Strike Brigade, where he will receive briefings on the UK Army’s modernisation initiatives and operational strategies.

The visit underscores the enduring partnership between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, reaffirming their shared commitment to regional stability and global peace.

The army chief met his British counterpart General Sir Patrick Sanders in May last year where both sides discussed measures to further elevate bilateral defence relations.

Earlier, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb expressed the desire to work for more robust relations with the UK during a meeting with British Parliamentary Undersecretary of State for Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan Hamish Falconer in Portugal.
If the Brits want forces for Ukraine "peace keeping" it should be a firm "Absolutely not".

Unsure what we can learn from the UK. The British Infantry is some of the best in the world, and many NCOs did Afghanistan and Iraq, but then our whole army has similar experiances.
Sandhurst is of course good, but Kakul has caught up, to the point it competes with Sandhurst for foreign cadet training.

British Army is now around 70,000. They cannot muster a fully fledged division and will struggle to deploy a brigade (as being contemplated for Ukraine pace keeping).

Struggling with armour both in terms of the Challenger 3 and also number (around only 200 tanks)
They have more horses than tanks (little less than 500 horses vs a little over 200 tanks).
The same goes for the Royal Navy....they have more admirals than fighting ships.

Well on their way to becoming a ceremonial army.

It's like in another life a very long time ago a lady officer at CMH RWP once "sternly" asked me and my fellow mates n I quote "Do u salute the rank or the cock !".:ROFLMAO:

Never imagined you to be so cruel ....
Maybe because Ive seen the outcome of the sweetness - the endless optimism - the hope of change from a population that has been so numbed from a combination of lies that they see themselves as lost and accept it. Lies on some divine purpose when it was all animal farm.

Lies on one messiah after another - lies on dying for some glorious cause when in the end it was for men who either wanted personal glory or burning a flame just enough so they could justify a system for the elite. Every aspect of Pakistan was designed from the get go for an elite group of wannabe sultans. From the blood money forgiveness to mix of mullahs and landlords it is all designed to keep a system in play.

And it’s not some British or American or zionist conspiracy - it’s a group of people recognizing that this is who the people of this land are and this is their NATURAL state - to be subjugated. And if they do start to get educated, to get aware - break them up so you can manage them.

This isn’t some wily Englishman in Downing street or some stork club - its simply one “system smart” individual after another. All the external forces do is they recognized the system and simply feed or manipulate it.

Orwell could not have written this irony even if he had an idea of Pakistan.

The whole idea of this “rebellion” is fighting some machiavellian dictator when in reality its small men - put in a box by other men - and each of those men (or in one case a grandmother full of botox) is playing in their own little self interest.

Men getting blown up in MRAPs arent dying for any true cause more than their comrades pick up to threaten and torture in either reluctant compliance to orders or simply following orders and channeling their frustration from a spat with the mrs or a family feud over a plot of land.

The same mullah that takes a stick and leads angry - hungry - aimless sheep to protest burning of the Quran is the same one with a whore in a Chakla at night.

This is the epitome of what Pakistan is - just numbed - just angry - just no longer caring.

Guilty of its own apathy and inaction it spurs into philanthropy and rights etc etc but just as long as the majority of them don’t lose what really means something to them.

Do you know WHY the retd COAS all live close by? They’re not all buddies - and while PLENTY want to kill them - who they truly fear is their successors. Because everything they did to keep the system going - to make compromises on what they said were “atoot ang” either for their own sakes or for their families - or for the system. If they ever speak the truth their own yakuza will kill them.

And this isn’t some “revolution” with IK - remember Bhutto? Star of Ayub then the next Quaid e Azam?
What happened then? Guess he got big for his own shoes and no it wasn’t his “alliance” with Shah Faisal and Gaddafi - he started hitting back at the same elite system to hoard power from them - the same system that decided that Bengalis were too much of a burden so made the decision in 1970 to let it go with no compromise because “these people never change” because they cant seem to help themselves even if we dont give them their fair share - brought him in but at least he kept the elite system in plag but then saw his ego getting in their way - took him out.

We’re back again with IK saw his ego and idiocy but most importantly saw the middle class coming up - the same system is deciding that it’s getting difficult to live with the tribals - “these people will never change” - same playbook - all over again.

Same cultist expat jiyalas making statements - same hot air. In the end Bhutto hanged.

It’s just the same damn playbook because IT works. Just iterating it - improving it - but NEVER changing it.

They just have relationships and experience learning from multiple sources. Lastly they are the “fathers” of the military system in Pakistan in terms of origination of o structure, facilities and ranks - so the student will always maintain ties to the master.

Army units carry their names - their legacy - nothing to do with Mughals or Tughlaqs or otherwise.

That’s the reality of it - no dismissive or disrespectful view intended.

So do the Aussies and many other former colonial armies.
