Tesla Model Y sales in China hits 48,202 in Sept, highest year to date​


Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model Y crossover saw another strong month of sales in China last month, despite facing a growing number of local challengers.

Retail sales of the Model Y in China in September were 48,202 units, the highest for a single month so far this year, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) shared by local automotive media outlet Yiche.

That's up 6.34 percent from 45,330 units in August and up 16.35 percent from 41,428 units in the same month last year.

Tesla sold 72,200 vehicles in China in September, surpassing August's 63,456 to set a new yearly high, CnEVPost noted in an October 12 report.

The Model Y contributed 66.76 percent of Tesla's retail sales in China in September, CnEVPost's calculations show.

In the January-September period, Model Y retail sales in China were 337,648 units, up 5.48 percent year-on-year, contributing 73.37 percent of Tesla's 460,200 sales in China in the same period.

Why not, every single component on that model Y is made in China. It's as Chinese as BYD....

Why do have such a desperate need to lie? So for instance do you really think Tesla's 7nm FSD AI chip is made in China?

Or more like....you weren't thinking....you were doing the typical racing to quickly give a parroted reply of something you thought you fully understood from reading it elsewhere.

There's an import tariff imposed by China on foreign made auto components...that's why car companies make a large percentage of their parts in China...oh shocking China has tariffs..but but but but the US is so unfair when they do it!!
