Xiaomi YU7 buyers will have to wait an entire year (53-56 weeks)

On June 26, Xiaomi had officially begun accepting pre-orders for its blockbuster all-electric SUV, Xiaomi YU7 and received an unprecedented amount of traction.

In just 3 minutes, Xiaomi’s second EV received 200,000 pre-orders, of which 120,000 were confirmed by the company’s CEO Lei Jun to be locked-in orders (with non-refundable deposits).

57 minutes later, or at the full hour after debut, the YU7 received 289,000 pre-orders, which nearly matched Xiaomi’s current annual production capacity for its two vehicle models.

Xiaomi now confirmed that the company has reached 240,000 locked-in orders at the 18th hour mark from pre-order launch.

Considering that is double the amount of locked-in orders when Xiaomi had reached 200,000 pre-orders, its pre-order volume may have exceeded the 400,000 mark now.

Per Xiaomi’s website, the waiting time is 53-56 weeks for the Standard version, 48-51 weeks for the Pro, and 33-36 weeks for the Max.

The three variants are priced at 253,800 RMB, 279,900 RMB, and 329,900 RMB, respectively.

Chinese car in general is way better than Tesla.

Tesla is no longer at the forefront of the auto industry.

If Elon Musk is smart, he will fully integrate Tesla with Chinese market and supply chain network.

Make Tesla car on the same standard as Chinese car and even more.

Tesla Model Y reclaims the best-selling SUV crown in China for May

Tesla China sold 71,599 units in June, first annual increase since September 2024

Tesla Model Y’s reign in China faces unprecedented challenge

The Model Y, in particular, is feeling the heat. While it sold over 480,000 units in China in 2024, securing the top sales spot for a single model, its position is now under siege. Domestic medium-sized pure electric SUVs, often referred to as “Model Y killers,” have been emerging over the past two years. However, these earlier challengers largely failed to impact the Model Y’s standing.

It is wise that you stop being a Musk buttboy since your smartass president is about to send him back to south africa, all your past buttlicking posts will look very stupid by then, but I guess you have plenty of experience to live with that.

Anyway better switch to a true MAGA brand like Boeing and Goldman Sachs just in case.

Chery-backed Anhui Anwa New Energy Technology shared that the first batch of engineering samples of the solid-state battery (SSB) rolled off the production line in China. This company aims to launch a GWh-level volume SSB assembly. The first-gen Anwa batteries have an energy density of 300 Wh/kg.

Anhui Anwa New Energy Technology was founded in June 2020. According to CarNewsChina research, Chery New Energy controls 9.89% of this company. And a well-known battery maker, Gotion High-Tech, holds 5.89% of the shares. In October 2024, Chery Group revealed ambitious plans to launch solid-state battery production in China. Now, the first batch of these packs rolled off the production line in China.

The first batch of solid-state batteries developed by Anwa rolled off the production line at the company’s factory in the Wuhu Economic and Technological Development Zone on July 4, Dawang News reports. These are engineering samples. However, Anwa officials shared that these batteries have passed the new “No Fire No Explosion” standard.

The Anwa’s plant adopts a full-chain production. It integrates eight functions, such as automatic coating of positive and negative battery cells, electrode diaphragm composite, and dynamic heat sealing. The production line’s length is over 35 meters. And the planned production capacity is 1.25 GWh with the production speed of 20 m/min. Laser slitting technology solves the problem of dust pollution.

Anwa reportedly adopts a 5-step dry manufacturing production process, reducing the energy consumption by 20% and fixed asset investment by 30%. In the next few years, the site will hold a 5 GWh solid-state battery R&D center and an integrated automated production line.

Back to Anwa’s first-gen solid-state battery, it has an energy density of 300 Wh/kg. The company says that the second-generation packs with an energy density of 400 Wh/kg have also entered trial production. Anwa plans to kick off the volume assembly of the third-gen 500 Wh/kg batteries in 2027.

There is no information on which cars will adopt Anwa’s solid-state batteries. Previously, the Chery’s Exeed Exlantix ET electric crossover was seen in China with a large “All-solid-state battery” inscription on the side.

The Chinese market is the most important EV market. .

LOL. I don't care for Musk. I don't even know his background/bio. BUT what I do know is right back when West starting putting 100% tariffs on EVs from China (which specifically targets Teslas made in China for export) Tesla stock shares went from $200 to $400 in a few weeks.

It means, ppl who just take news (rumors about his deportation and such) about Musk/Tesla at face value won't make for very intelligent investors... This type is easily duped by the West mainstream media!

Um....#1 in May 2025

Now #1 in June 2025..even though it is more expensive than Chinese EVs

I love the butt hurt from these celestials changing the topic into Trump's gonna deport him when it's not happening.

1) China allows Tesla, an US company, to build and sell in its domestic market because it wants its own companies to compete against the world's best and get better. The US puts a 100% tariff on Chinese cars because it doesn't want the same competition for its own car companies,

2) This competition has made Chinese cars, not just EVs, very efficient and competitive. China is the world's top car exporter -- without needing to sell a single car in the US market. Because China itself is the world's largest car market, Chinese car industry became the top exporter without the top two auto markets:

3) Tesla is now on a downward trajectory in China despite the Chinese government allowing it a privileged position. It is being outcompeted by local companies that had gotten a lot better quickly:
https://futurism.com/tesla-serious-trouble-china

thanks to a surge in far more price-competitive and lucrative offerings from Chinese EV manufacturers like BYD, Tesla's woes look poised to metastasize there as well. Its market share in China is shrinking, the Wall Street Journal reports, which could represent yet another nail in Elon Musk's carmaker's coffin.

The company sold 40,000 fewer cars in China in May, a massive 30 percent drop from the same month last year, a familiar story that's been playing out in many other parts of the world.

Tesla is losing ground in China: sales are down 30%, competitors are coming

07-12-2025 at 16:46

Until recently, Tesla remained the flagship of the electric car industry. But the situation is changing rapidly. The company is facing a drop in sales in the United States and Europe. Against this backdrop, Tesla’s dependence on China, its second most important market and key production center, is growing. However, Tesla is now losing influence in China as well, and Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers such as BYD have not only caught up but have begun to overtake the American company in terms of price and functionality.

According to Wall Street JournalTesla’s market share in China has been declining recently. In May, the company sold 40 thousand fewer cars in this country than in the same period last year. The drop in sales is a significant 30%. And this is not an isolated case, but part of a broader trend observed in different regions.

A few years ago, Tesla was a symbol of innovation, but now even the owners themselves call it «outdated». For example, Qiang Yang, a Chinese man, sold his Model 3 to buy a Xiaomi SU7 electric car, the new star of the local market. He compared Tesla to the iPhone, which was initially the market leader, but now may be losing out in many ways to other solutions with a lower price.

«They are becoming uninspired and outdated, and no longer have revolutionary functions», — he says.

While the American company delaying the renewal of the model rangeThe market is not waiting. Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers are constantly offering new models in different price segments. This encourages consumers to look for alternatives.

Elon Musk’s personal statements also play a role. His public support for extreme right-wing ideologies has significantly damaged the brand’s image in many countries. In China, the brand is losing not only the love of users but also the favor of the authorities.

«Tesla remains important for China, but supporting local companies is a priority», explained a consulting expert who works with Chinese government agencies.
Former General Motors vice president Michael Dunn believes that Tesla in China is already heading for the end of its era:

Additional tension is created by the fact that Tesla has not yet received full permission from the Chinese authorities to launch its Full Self-Driving driver assistance system. Nevertheless, the company has already begun to implement this system, which has caused dissatisfaction with official Beijing. At the same time, Chinese competitors have more time to reach a similar level.

Tesla has also canceled plans to create a new model focused on the tastes of Chinese consumers, instead deciding to save on current production. This is another strategic mistake amid growing competition.

And all this is happening at a time when Tesla’s management is going through a period of disorganization. Musk is once again plunging into politics, announcing its intention to create a new political party in the United States. This causes concern among investors and leads to a drop in the company’s capitalization by tens of billions of dollars.

According to experts, Musk played his cards wrong by not foreseeing that other players would be able to easily bypass Tesla in its second most important market. According to Bill Russo, head of the Chinese consulting company Automobility, Musk made the same mistake as many other Western automakers: «he underestimated China’s ability to out-innovate you».
