People thought that war on Iran was going to choke China exports, instead it pushed countries to buy chinese goods more than ever. Xi could never grow exports as much as what dear leader trump is able to do for China. While other countries run out of oil/gas and businesses shut down in places like phillipines and India, China has been full steam ahead. FDI and FII inflows has been great as well. One thing we learnt is that when money is tight, people spend their money on goods which provided highest value per cost and that attacking oil/gas is pushing people to Chinese solar/wind and EVs. President Trump doing his best to make China great again may his rule be long and great!

China's exports grew by more than 18% year-on-year in the first seven months of 2026, driven by high-tech and green energy demand, with August continuing a positive monthly momentum. [1, 2]

Overview of Trade Performance
    • First 7 Months: Total goods trade reached 30.13 trillion yuan ($4.46 trillion), an increase of 17.3% year-on-year. Exports specifically rose by 14% to 17.44 trillion yuan ($2.58 trillion). [1, 2]
    • July Spike: Exports surged 23.9% year-on-year in U.S. dollar terms to $397.85 billion, buoyed by the global artificial intelligence boom and front-loading ahead of incoming tariffs. [1, 2]
    • August Trend: Official statements from the General Administration of Customs indicated that exports and overall trade saw continued month-on-month expansion through August, marking three consecutive months of recovery in volume despite localized weather disruptions and trade headwinds. [1]

Growth Drivers
    • High-Tech Products: Semiconductors and AI-related computing hardware experienced massive demand, nearly doubling year-on-year in specific segments.
    • Green Energy: Outbound shipments of electric vehicles (EVs) and lithium batteries remained robust.
    • Partner Diversification: Trade with ASEAN and Belt and Road Initiative partners offset softer demand from traditional Western markets. [1, 2, 3]
