On April 8, Eastern Time, the United States further increased the so-called "reciprocal tariff" of 34% on Chinese products exported to the United States by 50% to 84%.
The State Council Tariff Commission issued an announcement today that from 12:01 on April 10, the additional tariff rate stipulated in the "Announcement of the State Council Tariff Commission on the Imposition of Additional Tariffs on Imported Goods Originating in the United States" (Tax Commission Announcement No. 4 of 2025) will be adjusted. The additional tariff rate on all imported goods originating in the United States will be increased from 34% to 84%.

China has pushed back once again to U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff policies by hiking its levies on U.S. imports to more than 80%.
China’s Office of the Tariff Commission of the State Council said that tariffs on U.S. goods will rise to 84% from 34% starting on April 10, according to a translation of the announcement. This comes after the latest U.S. tariff hike — which brings levies on Chinese goods to more than 100% — took effect at the start of April 9.

The repeated escalation of the tariffs threatens to bring trade between two of the world’s most important economies to a standstill.
The Trump administration announced a sweeping new tariff policy last week, and warned other countries not to retaliate. Some nations, including Japan, have seemed willing to negotiate on tariffs, but China appears to be taking a more hardline stance.
After China’s initial response to tariffs announced April 2, Trump announced an additional 50% hike, putting the total level for Chinese goods at 104%.
The U.S. had already imposed new tariffs on China before it rolled out its full trade policy in April. China, along with Canada and Mexico, was hit with new levies earlier in Trump’s presidency as part of what the administration says was an effort to stop fentanyl from entering the U.S.

USA is not negotiable. USA doesn't need other countries, as much as other countries need USA. USA wants China to kiss USA's ass.
There will be a moment in the near future when the situation is getting much worse than now... China will cease all the trade with USA.

If enough nations stand firm, it will be exactly the opposite. Time to launch BRICS+EU currency?? Then US imposes 1000% tariff on BRICS & EU nations, who can retaliate with similar tariffs, essentially stopping US from trading with all major nations. Anyway, you are right. Time to grab popcorn and enjoy the show. Unfortunately, most of my wealth is already in the market and can't buy much now.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce said on Wednesday (April 9) that six US companies involved in arms sales to Taiwan were included in the unreliable entity list, and another 12 US entities were included in the export control list.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce said that in recent years, six companies including Shield AI, Inc. and Sierra Nevada Corporation have, despite China's strong opposition, either participated in arms sales to Taiwan or carried out so-called military and technological cooperation with Taiwan, seriously damaging China's national sovereignty, security and development interests. China will hold them accountable for their illegal activities in accordance with the law in accordance with the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China, the National Security Law of the People's Republic of China, the Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law of the People's Republic of China and other laws, as well as Article 2 of the Regulations on the Unreliable Entity List and other provisions.
