Sure, but China is way bigger, and Taiwan's missiles cannot reach all of China while China's missiles can reach all of Taiwan. China can demolish every Taiwanese power plant but Taiwan cannot demolish every Chinese power plant. Chinese won't be the ones left in the dark. Taiwanese will be the ones left in the dark.

Taiwanese won't suffer living like that. Without electricity. Without oil. They cannot stand that kind of life. They surrender. China can always import electricity and gas and oil from neighboring Russia. China is not an island like Taiwan. An island can be blockaded.

China worried US would do the same to help ROC to retake mainland China, PRC was just founded in less than a year and the whole country was very vulnerable, many provinces hadn't been fully controlled, this is why Mao believed that war had to be fought to push back Americans from reaching the Chinese border.

Why are these Americans so anxious about war? China's still building up its arsenal, building its navy, building its air force, etc.

China's not interested in a war now when it's still weak, it's interested in war later when its strength will be without equal. To answer the question I posed, the US wants war now because it knows it will get weaker with time and in a decade it won't be able to stop armed reunification with Taiwan even if it threw everything it had at China.

Don't see anytime soon China going to war, their economy is growing, military is growing, technology is becoming advanced. They have no reason to invade Taiwan unless Taiwan declares independence. The USA also is not looking to fight China, instead they want to surround China with Usa allies, upgrade their relations with allies, and in the future isolate China, and slowly destroy their economy.

Taiwan is a lot more prepared than Ukraine ever was. Not to mention that there's a whole body of water between China and Taiwan which'll make things a lot more difficult.

Then there's the issue of S. Korea, Japan and US, especially the US, jumping in as soon as the conflict starts.

Can China fight multiple opponents at once??

Maybe Australia and India will jump in too at some point. That'll just mean more trouble for China.

My guy just in the start what if china launches few hundred of conventional ballistic missiles ? On military sites alone. Clear out as much as in first wave with lowering your loses.
Without even shooting anything deploying its fleet around taiwan at safe distance away from direct and close attacks and set it as a NO GO zone by air or sea ? What you think will be the outcome ? Its a island with very limited national resources to sustain those 25+ million citizens.
US is all happy just like US is sending secondary systems in ukraine against russians when china actually pushes for that you wont see much man power being diverted from the west.
