will mainly carry BVR and not short range air to air missiles, because it will have no to minimal agility/maneuverability, if enemy will be able come close to the J-36 . it will have no defense against the short range enemy, then 5th gen jets will become handy to save 6th gen jets because of their high maneuverability/agility, it will be HIGH-LOW combo
Lol it's bigger than J20 and has huge wingspan which means it's not very maneuverable designJ-36 is more agile than at first glance. The Germans made fun of P-38 and thought it has no chance at dogfight and found out the hard way.

Spill the beansI was reading Guancha.com's defence editor Yankeesama's (For people who is into Chinese defence must have known this man) new report in regard the latest 6th generation program, I would say it's Truely mind boggling!!!
I have to ditched all the things, stereotype on these machines as they have all become useless.
Are you going to be the translator lol, because that is way beyond my cap.Spill the beans

There's a video circulating on Chinese Internet of a hypersonic aircraft.
They might just take the route they did with J20/J35. They decoupled engine development and aircraft development. Later once engines were ready(recently) with the specifications they wanted…they started using those. Same concept can be used here…they could just start off with the engines they have…and then work simultaneously on 6th gen engines…while the rest of the aircraft finishes development(which will still take some considerable time). These are very neat designs, no doubt, but I wonder the effectiveness of the engines. We all know China was working on 6th generation engines but I wonder if the Chinese are anywhere near a fieldable 6th generation propulsion systems.
I hope I’m not imagining things…but I’m not seeing a DSI bump on the side air intakes…yet I can kind of see it(in some blurry pictures) for the top air intake(for the middle engine)…if true…does this suggest different types of engines(middle one being different than the side ones)?
I can't see it too but it's most likely just three WS-10C, there is no point of taking risk as it is just the first prototype, and in fact I don't think there will be any other type of engine other than turbofan.I hope I’m not imagining things…but I’m not seeing a DSI bump on the side air intakes…yet I can kind of see it(in some blurry pictures) for the top air intake(for the middle engine)…if true…does this suggest different types of engines(middle one being different than the side ones)?

If they r the same engines..then that would be less exciting.I can't see it too but it's most likely just three WS-10C, there is no point of taking risk as it is just the first prototype, and in fact I don't think there will be any other type of engine other than turbofan.
