Chinese Aircraft Carriers - Liaoning, Shandong, Fujian and the future

China's Fujian aircraft carrier uses a domestically developed electromagnetic catapult system to launch carrier-based aircraft at extreme speed.

After more than 20 years of development, the system delivers explosive acceleration and instant deceleration on a short flight deck.

Reportedly, this photo was taken today, and the Fujian aircraft carrier has entered the Bohai Sea.

This is likely for receiving new carrier-based fighter jets at the PLA Navy's carrier-based aircraft training base.

That's a good looking ship. I never digged the twin islands design of some of the newer European carriers.

Is this an official model? Is it legit anyway or again AI?

I knew someone would post this photo here, but I didn't expect it to be you.

We don't know who created this model. However, based on our analysis, there are many questionable aspects to this model.

1. From this perspective, we don't see an elevator. This is unusual. A carrier of this size should have another elevator on this side. The model looks more like an elongated Type 003 aircraft carrier.

2. Note the aircraft on the deck. One of them has a black fuselage and a white nose. The "FC-31" prototype aircraft has a similar paint scheme. However, if this is a model produced by an official agency, it should use the J-35's paint scheme.

Some people have analyzed this photo using professional software and concluded it's a Photoshopped image. But I don't think that's important.

Regardless of whether the photo is a Photoshopped image or an AI-generated image, I believe the real aircraft carrier No. 19 is very different from this.

It is official, but few modifications will be done after the real CVN-19.

The island structure is close to the actual supercarrier, but it should be moved little behind closer to the stern.

China is building the tech tree of the CVN-LX which was a concept abandoned by the USN.

And we are hoping the fourth carrier can have 4 EMALS catapults + 3 elevators, and let's wait and see.

The CVN-20 will be built by the Jiangnan shipyard, and it will be nearly identical to the CVN-19 built by the Dalian shipyard.

So CV-19 is a Type 003A and CVN-20 is a Type 004?
