Chinese Aircraft Carriers - Liaoning, Shandong, Fujian and the future

China can build an aircraft carrier for Pakistan, if Pakistan pays of at least 75% of it.

Who are you to tell us what we Pakistanis should or should not do.

No, pay 100% or leave it! Why do you always think China should support your dick-contest with your neighbour? And by the way do you have a clue how much the operation of an aircraft carrier costs?

I agree with you. Pakistan should pay 100%. I see no problem with that my Chinese friend.

A aircraft carrier fleet consists of: 1 aircraft carrier, 4-6 destroyers + frigates, 2-4 submarines, and large supply ships......The specific formation composition is adjusted according to mission requirements.

The annual operating cost of a Chinese aircraft carrier fleet (taking the Shandong as an example) is approximately $600-800 million. The US Navy's cost is approximately $1.3 billion. It's estimated that China's subsequent nuclear-powered aircraft carrier fleet will cost approximately $1 billion per year.

This is far beyond Pakistan's means......

Of course if the Pakistanis do want an aircraft carrier, the Chinese Minsk is available for sale. It's very cheap......LOL

Probably a new built Type 076 variant in maybe the late 2030s or early 2040s, after the Destroyer and SSN needs are filled would probably be more realistic (if the economy grows enough o support the acquisition), unless a carrier is gifted for the SLOC defense role as part of an arrangement with China and the PLAN. Two catapults and two elevators 50,000 tons. Room enough for 24-28 J-35 and 3 KJ-600 plus helicopters.

All the motivation to get to a trillion dollar economy. ;) not an impossible task, it just has to be a priority of the Pakistani ruling class to orient their behavior towards this task, and become serious about cutting back early profit taking, as well as resource management and reinvesting profits back into each industrialists respective industries. A $375 billion economy at 8% a year for 13 years could become a trillion economy. Considering how far On a per capita basis, Pakistan is currently around $1500, while India is at $2700. Much inefficiency that could be corrected to catch up to at least the Indian level and then optimize for development not maximizing profits of a few. With population growth by 2040 projected to reach around 325 million by 2040, a GDP per capita of $3100 is not unrealistic by the late 2030s, just from correcting our inefficiencies via a vi India and Bangladesh.

Pakistan has trouble finding money for CPEC, let alone a vast sum for AC

This sentence should soon be read as "Pakistan HAD trouble finding money for CPEC".

This statement is factually wrong. CPEC is a Chinese initiative to avoid Indian route (enemy territory) and then to the Indo-Pacific and then to South China sea. Strait of Malaca is a choke point with Indian, Australian and American navies and that will stop the Chinese trade entirely. The other route is above Russia, still all ice / glassier filled and limited operations only for 2 months a year.

Through Gawader, Chinese trade can resume in a war time, cuts distance by literally near a month as Chinese ships won't have to go through the ENTIRE India, then Sri Lank and back into Strait of Malaca and then into the Indo-Pacific to SCS.

So CPEC truly benefits the Chinese national security. It gives us a few billions in transit fees but when it will become fully operational. Both nations get benefit out of it. But its much more significant for the Chinese national security than it is for Pakistan.

Secondly, the 2018-2020's Pakistan is different then today and it will be vastly different starting 2028 economically as our Rare Earth Minerals and Oil and Gas sales will start by then taking us to financial independence in the future.

That trillion dollar economy isn't too far. Just wait until 2035.

Pakistan will also benefit greatly when CPEC is completed as all the industrial zones along the route will be developed too, that is if Pakistan will be able to attract lots foreign investments and industries from China and other countries as originally planned. CPEC is an alternate trade route for China to the Malacca strait route.
