@Admin I searched and couldn't find a thread where different news on this topic can be posted. so created a thread where all different news and updates can be posted. Not separate thread for every single news or article.

But if there is already such thread exist please delete this thread.

Well, well they finally ditched the Russian engine for the J15B a clear and unmistaken confidence in the Chinese engines as Naval use demand the utmost in engine reliability and thrust

cross posting from the J-15 ... it is maybe (or most likely) a bit too premature to open the Champagne as it seems.

I restarted a thread on this topic in the early days. Merge that one into it if there is some activity on that one.

Did China just show off / test a pulse detonation engine?

Do all the aerospace companies have some kind of deadline to show off their products by the end of the year?

Some general knowledge about the WS-10 series of engines.

Technical Source:
Chinese engineers reverse-engineered the CFM56 and AL31F to gain basic knowledge of turbofan engines. This basic knowledge provides reference for the WS-10. They combined the progress of their own research strengths and countless tests to give birth to the WS-10 engine.
The process was very arduous and painful, and many painful costs were paid. Interested parties can look for stories on this.

Model type:

WS-10 (no suffix letters)
Experimental product, not mass produced or mounted.

WS-10A (J-11B/J-11BS/J-11BG)
First generation mass production model of the WS-10 series.

WS-10B (J-10 specialized model)
Based on WS-10A, modified structure, specialized to adapt to J-10 series. Performance has been slightly improved.

WS-10C (J-20 specialized model)
Based on the WS-10A, with greater performance improvement, developed specifically for the J-20. Compromise solution to sacrifice range for performance explosion. ------ It will be gradually replaced by WS-15.

WS-10D (J15T/J16/J16D)
Balanced version between WS-10A and WS-10C with additional naval adaptations.

WS-10 3D TVC and WS-10 2D TVC
None of them have been mass-produced or fielded.

Add two additional messages.

1, Pakistan purchased a WS-21 engine last year. I have already mentioned this news before. Now add that the deal is for 100 million CNY in cash.

2, AECC currently has a very high secrecy level group working on a brand new small thrust turbofan engine (not the one that was revealed late last year). ------ This is a bit of an anomaly.

100 million CNY is approximately 13.75 million USD, which seems costly and almost twice the price of a WS10B or RD-93MA, or perhaps even higher.

Probably, there is some real advantage inherent within the WS-21 or in this deal.
