Type 075 is essentially a pocket carrier.

It will primarily carry fixed-wing fighter drones with a body of less than 15m, GJ-11 for now.
plus WZ-10 and Z-6B , have nothing to do with manned fighters.

吴谦：根据国防需要发展必要武器装备，是世界各国的通行做法。中国自主研制建造076两栖攻击舰，是着眼国家安全需要和海军建设发展全局作出的正常安排，目的是捍卫国家主权、安全、发展利益，更好地维护世界和地区和平稳定。该舰是我国自主研制的新型两栖攻击舰，创新运用电磁弹射和阻拦技术，可搭载固定翼飞机、直升机、两栖装备等，具备较强的两栖作战、远海作战能力。该舰下水后，将按计划开展设备调试、系泊试验、航行试验等工作。

China’s independent development and construction of the Type 076 amphibious assault ship is a normal arrangement consistent with China's national security needs and the overall development of the PLA Navy. The goal is to safeguard national sovereignty, security and development interests and better protect peace and stability in the region and beyond. The vessel is a new-type amphibious assault ship independently developed by China. It applies electromagnetic catapult and arresting technology, and can carry fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and amphibious equipment. The ship has strong capabilities for amphibious and far-seas operations. After its launching, the ship will conduct equipment adjustments, mooring trials and sea trials.

A follow on version with a second catapult could make it safer for the Type 076 to operate as an independent carrier of manned or even unmanned aircraft, to launch aircraft knowing the ship has redundancies.
Based on your images, probably would require a reduction of 3 J-35 (removing J-35 #18,19,and 20)
fighters to a complement of 26 J-35 and 2 AWACS. Still a very competitive number.
Currently it seems best as a secondary carrier to assist another carrier, as part of a larger task force.
Btw, with the ship’s space set aside for amphibious capacities, is the ship large enough to carry this many aircraft in the hangar?

Any estimate of the cost to build the Type 076? Also was the build time 2-3 years?

Type 075 is likely to cost around 1 billion dollars. Make your own guess.The Type 071 LPD, a Chinese-made amphibious transport dock (LPD) ship, cost around $200 million for Thailand to purchase. Now compare that to American LPD class ship.
