Come on, how can Mandarin be the official language of the world?

There are too many Arabic, English, and Urdu/Hindi speakers.

It is a pipe dream of a Chinese propagandist, that's all.

As of 2026, English is still the most spoken language in the world. Mandarin Chinese is second. English is the standard language in the global business world. Chinese is not.

On the occasions I had to fly jump seat on cargo aircraft, communications between flight crews and ATC were in English. Not Chinese.

There is also some weirdness with passwords because Chinese is not always an accurately typed language. When you type a password in using Chinese characters there is this "close enough" algorithm run.
