Chinese UAVs News & Discussions

Procuring 1 million UAVs is a very easy task for PLA. I'm not dismissing this content by saying it's fake news. For it, I'm not commenting.

What I mean by fake news is the way this article is described.

1. the Poly company. Initially it was a direct company set up by the PLA's General Armaments Department, and it's purpose was to import weapons from and export weapons to foreign countries. It does not design, produce, or manufacture any weapons itself. Simply put, it is the window company for China's foreign arms trade, and Poly is not involved in any of the PLA's domestic purchases of weapons and equipment in China; the PLA places its orders directly with China's domestic military industry.

2. PLA is not under the jurisdiction of the Chinese government at all. The Ministry of Defense under the Chinese government is only responsible for recruiting soldiers, resettlement of retired soldiers, production of weapons and equipment, international military diplomacy and other auxiliary work. The Chinese Ministry of Defense does not have any direct military power such as military command, weapons and equipment procurement. China's Minister of Defense is a ceremonial military-diplomatic position, and he is unable to command and mobilize any combat units. any PLA procurement of weapons and equipment will not go through China's Ministry of Defense.
I know but i did not refered to ability of such purchase instead i pointed out flaws in purchase itself of such magnitude.

Let's assume 2000 usd for each drone. So, for 1 million drones the total cost of acquisition is 2 billion dollars. Logistics, training, and storage add to the cost.

Doesn't make sense.
When you make over 80% of the drones in the world and have the complete global drones' supply chain firmly in your hands. they can become cheap to make.

The report might be saying different types of drones are involved.
It makes more sense then but order still is to big unless you changed whole doctrine of your armed forces and trained personal in accordance.

It's a kamikaze drone. They need to be built yo military specifications
The supply chain for all drones are in China's hands, they are easy to make, even Ukraine needs Chinese drones for their military. Ukraine just buys Chinese civilian drones online and slightly modify them to meet their kamikaze drone requirements.

You have absolutely no idea how horrible China's unmanned industry is.

Currently the cheapest recreational UAV on Chinese e-commerce platforms is around 200CNY ($27.40). It is similar to the price of a hand grenade.
DJI's cheapest UAV is the DJI Neo, which retails for 1,299CNY ($178) in China. If the military were to purchase it on a large scale, the price would be reduced by at least 30%.

PLA has recently been openly soliciting prizes for ultra-cheap UAV programs in China.
The campaign is still ongoing.

Are these types of drones "storable"?

If you build a large number and you don't need them until a conflict lets say 10-20 years from now, I'm assuming the drones can just be stored away until needed

I know this is a Chinese thread, but anyone knows Pakistans policy on these types of drones?

In the PLA training video, the soldier says something like:
“Think of these FPVs as grenades that will fly the way your own heart desires ......”
You can appreciate the meaning of this quote.

For them, as many grenades as they used to carry, they now carry FPV.

Cheap kamikaze drones are classified under the ammunition category by the PLA, not weapons, hence the large quantity. They are practically no different from bullets or artillery shells

The TL-Q700 Human Shadow Drone Operation System is capable of high-altitude takeoff and landing as well as high-altitude cruising, meeting various mission requirements and offering a promising market prospect. It can be used to disperse rain-inducing agents or precisely deploy fire-extinguishing bombs, making it suitable for forest and grassland fire suppression or weather modification operations. Its features include long endurance, high speed, and long range, enabling it to adapt to complex weather conditions and effectively弥补 existing equipment limitations. It performs notably in disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief, forest and grassland resource protection, and ecological environment restoration.

As I said many times, Stealth has short shelf life. The B21 is screwed.

The "Divine Eagle" unmanned early warning aircraft has made its appearance. It is a nemesis for stealth fighter jets. Since then, the situation of offense and defense has been reversed. With a wingspan of 50 meters, it can fly at an altitude of 25,000 meters for 48 hours. Under the surveillance of the "Divine Eagle", the B-2 bomber will no longer be able to stay stealthy.

You Are again overhyping it totally especially since we almost know nothing

We know enough this UAV has been tested since 2017. It has reached operational status, and we know the purpose of this UAV is specially designed with conformal radar to hunt the likes of B2 and B21. Well, you can live in the past and worship the USA, USA but times have changed. I am not hyping anything. It is you who are constantly wrong because of your sense of superiority.

Divine Eagle (Shen-Diao or Shendiao, 神雕) is a little-known jet-powered Chinese UAV under development reportedly since 2012. It was possibly in service as of 2018, with its existence first revealed in the Chinese military aircraft development genealogy map (中国军用飞机发展族谱图) as a high altitude long endurance (HALE) counter stealth UAV (高空远程反隐身无人机).<a

It was confirmed by Chinese official sources when the autobiography of aircraft designer academician Li Ming (李明) was published in 2012, in which it was revealed that the Divine Eagle was designed by the 601st Institute (more commonly known as Shenyang Aircraft Design Institute) of SYAC, originally as a proof of concept aircraft for the development of counter stealth UAV.

NO ... plain and simple NO!

Yes we know it was tested, but we haven't seen it in service yet let alone one in grey suggesting it is in service.
We heard a lot of rumours, even more speculations but NO hard facts nor confirmations on its performance ... as such to tell it as if the B-21 is a piece of easy prey is at best an assumption!

No one denies its existence, but the performance & capabilities you claim are far from proven.

It is you who assumes things. You are not privy to the operational status of any of the PLAAF aircraft. You don't even speak or read Chinese. Your information is, at best, 3rd sourced from a rumor-mongering site like SDF. They have been testing it since 2017. Do you think they twiddle their thumb? Anyone following Chinese military progress should know the progress in aeronautical, sensors, and avionics; 7 years is an eternally long time. You have been following for so long that you should know better!
