Free tuition expands at University Houston-Clear Lake as income limit rises to $100K​


HOUSTON — More University of Houston-Clear Lake students will be able to go to college for free.

UHCL, which is part of the University of Houston System, announced it will expand the family-income eligibility threshold for its Hawk Promise to encompass first-time freshmen and transfer students from families with adjusted gross incomes of up to $100,000. The previous family-income threshold was $65,000. The expanded eligibility starts with the fall 2027 application cycle.
