Well, you cannot compare Gwadar with Salinas. Gwadar is a strategic node in CPEC and as such it deserves an airport. Whether the vision materializes or not depends on Pakistan such as securing the safety of Chinese personnel. Without it, no one would invest in Gwadar The plan was for Gwadar to have a refinery, and power plant. industrial estate, A gateway for the inner province of Xinjiang to market in the Middle East, Iran, And Africa. But Pakistan has a poor record in this and China balk at providing more loans. They have the fishing pole now let see if they can catch big fish

The airport, located 26 kilometers northeast of the existing Gwadar airport, has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs54.98 billion (approximately $240 million). Chinese government constructed the airport as a gift to the people of Balochistan from China.
