"Contacted, Mustafizur Rahman, a distinguished fellow at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), underscored the need for the national statistical agency to re-estimate the GDP size.

"Many reports, including the 'White Paper on the State of the Bangladesh Economy', have identified flaws in the BBS's GDP growth estimates," he said.

As a result, the actual tax-GDP ratio and debt-GDP ratio cannot be accurately accounted for, added Rahman.

"First, the BBS should develop a robust methodology for calculating GDP," he emphasised."

Most of the institutional are still running on old systems. Only after some critical reforms (which is still in a very early stage and haven't fully started yet) we may see better stats and accurate data. This doesn't require a genius to figure it. But some people have very little comprehension.

Hassina was a bloodthirsty sick tyrant who judicially killed his political opponents, made people disappear and run infemous secret torture cell.

Your constant (falsely) praising for her is just disgusting. Majority of people in Bangladesh simply hate BAL and Hassina. That's a fact. You can say all the nonsense you want. It won't change that.
Just because u said so doesn't necessarily mean it is true. She is the best leader Bangladesh has ever had as she took the country to such a place where other south Asian countries started looking at us as a role model.

Who told u that majority of the people hate Hasina. She might be hated by the opposition currently running the country and their handful of followers, but BAL is still the most popular political party in Bangladesh. It is quite evident from the comments that u get to see on social media.

The revolution that took place in Bangladesh in July 24 is a foreign funded regime change, meticulously planned by the opposition who wants to turn the country into a failed state.

Unsubstantiated claims regarding the number of rape cases.
Bangladesh is a gone case. There isn't going to be sympathy anymore for your manipulations going forward. Bangladesh like Pakistan today is going to see significant stagnation and devaluation of its currency. World is just waiting for your LDC graduation never to put back on it again to take advantage. Its illogical to extend free lunch to 200 million people. If they can't collectively grow up then they might as well go down the drain.
Bangladesh is totally finished now. People are afraid to go out at night since they might get killed, robbed or raped. The whole country is in chaos with no freedom of expression and moral policing is on rampant. U will be tagged as Bal supporters and then get robbed under bright daylight infront of the Police.

Just in this month of Ramadan we have had the misfortune to read news of over 300 rape cases along with countless murders and robbery.

And why wouldn't we? Thousands of criminals were released, among which some were murderers waiting to be hanged. The whole country is in chaos now. U cant even imagine what shit is currently going on in this god forsaken country.

We used to see a lot of Bangladeshi workers in the south, hardworking guys with all the proper Aadhaar cards and documents. My local supervisors often talked about them, and I would comment on how Bangladesh’s per capita GDP had surpassed India’s and was expected to accelerate even further. There was even a UN report that projected by 2050, Bangladesh could see reverse migration from Indian border states as people moved there for better job opportunities.

Well, that now seems like a distant dream. If a country’s leadership is actually delivering results economic growth, rising incomes, and improved living standards, then people should at least wait until it reaches middle income status before jumping into ideological battles. But instead, Bangladesh seems to be heading down a path of chaos, where political and religious freedom translate to lawlessness, crime, and radicalism.

Meanwhile, Pakistanis here will keep barking about how Hasina is the worst thing to happen to Bangladesh and how the country is supposedly on a glorious path of breaking free from "evil India’s imperialist grip." But let’s be honest, what does Pakistan even know about economic growth or governance? You can’t allow radicals to dictate national policy and expect progress. Yet, for some reason, South Asian Muslims seem obsessed with making religion the canter of everything, even at the cost of economic stability, law and order, and overall development.

If you truly believe Hasina cooked GDP - now’s the time to tell UN and get it revised asap!

Otherwise shut up permanently.

Hasina got Bangladesh out of LDC status!

@SoulSpokesman @Joe Shearer

@UKBengali @r3alist

Hasina did everything for Bangladesh, and still she has the support of the majority of the people here in this country. But the problem is since most of them are common people u cant here them much.

Just look at the state Bangladesh was when she overtook the power and where she took it. Hasina did everything to keep the economy running in her tenure as there was no place for religious extremism back then. But, now the whole country is run by religious zealots, and u can't even imagine what people have been going through since August. The whole country is in the brink of collapse as there is no law and order right now in Bangladesh .

Literally asking for trouble when in pink

This is a complete off topic diversion

Most people here in Bangladesh don't care about Pakistan apart from cricket. But, sadly there r still handful of Rajakars left in this country, who have been constantly making media presence in order to make it feel like the majority of the people hold the same view, which in reality is far from the truth. If u see the gatherings of these scums, u will get a pretty good Idea about their support.

Those people currently holding the power are totally opposite of what majority believes, but sadly they have the power of the gun, which is why common people have no choice but to conform.

Obviously the ongoing anarchy will end at some point of time. But, by the time this nightmare is over, the country will have fallen by at least 20-30 years behind.

Excellent post. Based on fact and not bias.

Just because you are flooding this thread with loads of nonsense, doesn't mean any of it is true.

Who made you the truth police?

He has presented facts like videos of harassments

Ah, you don't seem to get it. We live in real life...here in BD...we run the show where it matters. I don't need to convince online trolls of anything nor I need to answer to any of your ridiculous challenges.

If I ever do out of irritation, be glad that I answered to you and you have successfully wasted some of my time.

You were lecturing others about accepting counter point of view in another thread and here you are unable to accept it yourself.

Hasina killed people - it is a documented fact.

You claiming revolution is foreign funded is tinfoil conspiracy. There is absolutely zero proof to support it apart from your love for Hasina. Anyone who observed how events unfolded in July-August will clearly see how Hasina Regime's wrong decision one after the other opened the floodgate. If she wanted, she could have simply cancelled the quota in July, instead of unleasing her league cadres and police, and that would have been the end of it.
