They are apparently getting J 35s in 2 years @Guru Dutt
F 35s to counter ? Will they even be on offer now after the S-400s

well you need money and lots and lots of it to fly and mantain so called 5th gen fighter's .... an avrage of 1:2.5 ratio meaning if it takes 1 million US$$ to buy fuel and very essential spares for F16 it will take minimumm of 2.5 million US$$ for doing the same for a single J-35They are apparently getting J 35s in 2 years @Guru Dutt

As far as we're concerned, there is still the dragon to contend with.well you need money and lots and lots of it to fly and mantain so called 5th gen fighter's .... an avrage of 1:2.5 ratio meaning if it takes 1 million US$$ to buy fuel and very essential spares for F16 it will take minimumm of 2.5 million US$$ for doing the same for a single J-35
that is even if China gifts 36 J35s for free to Pakistan still Pakistan will need at least 2 to 3 billion each year to buy fuel and spares to keep them in combat ready situation and keep them fully mantained and fueled
i guess we all know how good there financial situation currently is and whats there future projection![]()

What are our plans for a 5th gen looking like ?
AMCA achaar daalte rahengey kya ?

Russia are good for more Kamov helos and some other stuff but we shouldn't get more fighters from them, spl not this 57 bird.
Ya, 35 spec variant. Not like learning a whole new system, all infra support already in place. We should rather upgrade existing Su-30 with Su-57 tech and order another 30-40 birds rather than buying & maintaining Su-57, its an white elephant.

57 was always a dodgy proposition, spl now with Russia in big big money trouble. Time to officially close that chapter and look elsewhere.
SU 35 was tested so was T 90. SU 35 got rejected due to lack of AESA and T 90 lost to OPLOT and VT 4. And eventually we got VT 4 and J 10 C. Both your T 90 and SU 35 failed to meet our requirements. Your problem is you had assume that SU 35 is better then J 10 C, no it isn't@Zarvan well your the one who once dreamt that Russia is so close to Pakistan that it will GIFT Su35 fighter jets and T90 MBTs to Pakistan since India is getting tooo close to USA ... what hapenned ...![]()
thing is we indians sure are late on the block but work hard and keep working though also keep indulging in way too many diverssions but even after all those irregularities and handicaps we have achived what we have not because of "FIGHT WITH PAKISTAN" as most of you belive but cause we owrselfs want to get better
And belive it or not your nation for long has just a neusence value like that of a perpetual trouble maker thats why we have adopted a policy of TOTAL IGNORE towards your nation .....
Dosty ya Dushmani bhi barabar wallon me hoti hai aur Pakistan aur Bharat ki koi barabarri kissi bhi paimanne per hai hi nahi ... koi shakk![]()

A wild idea... but may be... just may be.... ask Russia to exchange Su30s with Su57, produce them 57s in India.36 Su 57 for what, testing ? rather buy more Rafale's and get ToT.
We are trying to make AMCA more western rather than Russian.

"Pakistan is getting new equipment"
"No money"
"Pakistan just bombed our bases with bombs we were told they could not afford saaar!!!!"
well @Zarvan India did not choose cause owr MKi verssion is very colse to all those capabilities if not better in many as on Su35 and since Falnker is twin engined wieght fighter heavy fighter and very very diffrent from J10 which is a sngle engined medium wieght fighter both very different cannot be comparedSU 35 was tested so was T 90. su35 is a passive phased array radar, and J-10C is an active phased array radar.well @Zarvan India did not choose cause owr MKi verssion is very colse to all those capabilities if not better in many as on Su35 and since Falnker is twin engined wieght fighter heavy fighter and very very diffrent from J10 which is a sngle engined medium wieght fighter both very different cannot be compared
Su35 can carry almost 40% more external fuel or weapons load to more than twice the distance on internal fuel as J10 latest model go check for yourself and Su35 nose cone is more than twice the size and can house more than twice the size antenna as that on J10 and till has enough power genration to power the radar and cooling systems and all other realted avionics , EW suites and SPJ suites and RWR/MAWR type LRUs
J10 on the other hnd was devlped from Israeli LAVI project which actualy was build to be very small and compact all weather multi mission/ multi role with capabilty for very low mantainence and still can take off and land on very short runways even in low visibility and cross winds
while chinese have mass produced both J10 and reverse engineered Flanker clones ... good for them ........ but Chinese and Indian conditions are very very different specially when chinese have to station there jets on Tibet Paltue the efficiency of there jets drops to less than 40% as in coastal eastern china ... but you can always disagree
