Deals for 26 Rafale-M jets, three Scorpene submarines to be signed by next month: Navy Chief

well you need money and lots and lots of it to fly and mantain so called 5th gen fighter's .... an avrage of 1:2.5 ratio meaning if it takes 1 million US$$ to buy fuel and very essential spares for F16 it will take minimumm of 2.5 million US$$ for doing the same for a single J-35

that is even if China gifts 36 J35s for free to Pakistan still Pakistan will need at least 2 to 3 billion each year to buy fuel and spares to keep them in combat ready situation and keep them fully mantained and fueled

i guess we all know how good there financial situation currently is and whats there future projection ;) :P
The annual flight maintenance cost of a single F-35A is as high as $8 million, and the maintenance cost of the B/C models may be close to or even exceed $10 million.
Pakistan only needs to spend $200 million per year to maintain 36 J35

Dassault had carried out India Specific enhancements even in 2016 Rafale deal of IAF .

If you had read the article.
It's clearly mentions that Dassault must showcase Indian Navy spec Rafale in 18 months of signing the contract.

What that simply means is that Rafale must demonstrate take off and Landing on an Indian carrier within 18 months of signing Contract.

Rest of the modifications are likely to be similar to what we have with IAF Rafales .
With both IAF and Navy wanting Integration of ASTRA BVR missiles as well as Rudram Anti radiation missiles In its Rafale fleet

Yes, that bit is what I am talking about. IN is buying a bird that has not a proven ability to land and take off from its carriers.

I would have thought this would have been done by all the competitors beforhand. What happens if Dassault cannot stick to the 18 months?

What impact will this have on aircraft delivery? Already Dassault has an 8 year backlog of production.

Yasser don't lose sleep on more Rafales coming to India ..infact get used to this it's not stopping at 26 Rafales M

India will buy more Rafales in future and most likely the FCAS sixth generation fighter

France has the massive Indian military market they will make billions of
Dollars

They've actually done it from our shore based ramp but that's not enough, much certification remains.

well what about the cost of spares and fuel and the weapons ?????

OK you mean in 8-10 million USD you can mantain a single F35 for year ... ok given ... but those are developed nations with all latest infra made for likes of F16 or F A-18 not much will required but switiching from Mirage III/IV or JF17 to J35 well good luck

and even with 10 million avarage its 360-400 million for 36 J35 as per you which i find very funny cause it takes at least 65000 to 70000 USD per sortie for feuling alone and then takes atleast 5-8 hours in hangers to check and recheck all subsystems to clear for next sorties which costs almost 200000 usd in servicing and re checking the entire airframe alone so thats an avarage cost of .25 million per sortie and an avrage fighter will to 10 sorties a month& 200 sorties a year thats 2.5 million a month thats 30 million a year thats 36X30=1080

so 1080 is bare minnimum when J35 type fighter just have 10 sorties a month rest u can keep fooling yourself as there ar e many other overheads than just fuel and regular checkups and servicing ... but sure you can always disagree ;) :P

I have read it's the "stealth upgrade" of Su30mki ..
It's also called "Super Sukhoi" version of Su30mki...
I agree rafales are no match for raptor of east su30. Not sure why would india buy such inferior plans

Su30 were buiit to counter chinese stealth aircarft with special systems
