The new LWCLU is 30 percent smaller and 25 percent lighter. Brazilian Embraer is looking to manufacture civil and military aircraft in Morocco

1711332441708.jpeg

After ten years of showing its interest in the subcontracting of the Moroccan aerospace industry, the Brazilian company Embraer is again examining the possibilities of the national ecosystem through its sites in Portugal, where it has industrial units such as Embraer Metallicas and Embraer Composites in Évora, in addition to its subsidiary OGMA Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal.

This new interest demonstrates Embraer's commitment to strengthening its relations with Morocco in the aerospace industry, both in the civil and military sectors.

The Brazilian company Embraer seeks to strengthen its relations with Morocco by exploring cooperation opportunities in the civil and military aviation industries. This includes searching for local partners and developing joint projects that may contribute to strengthening industrial infrastructure and improving technological capabilities in Morocco.

The cooperation between Embraer and local companies in Morocco includes technology transfer. According to an article from the Financial Times, Morocco is an advanced industrial platform, attracts international investment, and manufactures parts for major companies such as Embraer. This indicates the existence of technical cooperation and exchange of knowledge and expertise in the field of the aviation industry, which enhances Morocco’s technological capabilities.

Military cooperation between Morocco and Brazil is witnessing remarkable development. In June 2019, the two countries signed a defense cooperation agreement that includes military training, joint military exercises, and defense information exchange. The agreement reflects Morocco's strategy to diversify its security partnerships globally and enhance its defense capabilities by purchasing advanced military equipment and developing its own defense industry.

In February 2023, the Brazilian Senate's Foreign Relations and National Defense Committee approved a draft decree for a defense cooperation agreement with Morocco, which aims to strengthen defense-related matters including research and development, logistical support, and access to defense products and services2. These steps support Morocco's ambitions to develop its defense industry and reduce its dependence on foreign weapons.

Bluebird was a small startup company, and Morocco was the one that raised its name after a 150-drone deal for WanderB/ThunderB surveillance and reconnaissance drones..
Then they manufactured the SpyX drone at a Moroccan request, that is, with purely Moroccan specifications.. and now Morocco will make it with the rest of the reconnaissance drones..
