Disinformation leak by the US themselves on purpose. The attack occured in Al-Tanf which is in Syria..
The reason Jordan was falsely added was because they want Jordan to respond because if Jordan territorial space is violated they will respond harsh just like they do against these smugglers.
Jordan has strong airforce and overall armed to teeth. They can launch 60+ F-16A's and clean the entire Syrian and Iraqi border areas without facing deterence if wanted..

What are you talking about? Iraqi Islamic resistance has simultaneously attacked Americans in Syria too.
Jordan is sensitive because it is a fully US controlled territory.

Jordanian Minister of Government Communications Muhannad Mubaidin said Sunday that the attack targeting U.S. forces near the Syrian border did not occur inside Jordan.
Mubaidin told the state-run Al Mamlaka TV that the attack targeted the al-Tanf base in southeastern Syria.
The United States said Sunday that three U.S. troops were killed and dozens wounded during a drone strike on U.S. forces stationed in northeastern Jordan near the Syrian border. U.S. President Joe Biden pinned the blame for the deadly attack on Iran-backed militant groups, while also saying that the U.S. was still gathering the facts, Russia's Sputnik news agency reported.
The al-Tanf base is located in the Syrian desert near the border with Jordan. ■

An unnamed Iraqi officer has said that 12 American forces were killed and almost 40 Americans were wounded amongst them a few are in serious condition. This is the aftermath of attack on American bases in Syria, Iraq and near borders of Jordan. Morlae of American forces has collapsed because of failing to counter the attack on their forces, Islamic resistance missiles broke through American air defense systems and successfully targeted them.
