Egypt is the only country outside the United States that produced the M1A1 Abrams main battle tank inside the 200 Military Factory.

The engine factory of the Arab Organization for Industrialization has an overhaul and repair line for the engine of the American M-1A1 “Abrams” main battle tank, which Egypt produced locally in cooperation with the American side.

Arabian Industrialization aims to obtain international accreditation for this line during the coming period, as Engineer Gamal Ramadan, Chairman of the Factory’s Board of Directors, said in statements to the “Al-Jumhur” newspaper that the factory is currently negotiating international accreditation for overhauling and repairing the “M1A1” tank engine in the factory.

Military Factory 200 manufactured more than 1,000 tanks and delivered them to the Egyptian Armed Forces, achieving a local component ratio of up to 95% in the tank’s body and manufacturing the 120 mm cannon entirely locally in Factory 100 Military.
