For the first time, the Chinese Air Force deployed an early warning plane by an atmosphere of KJ-500 in Egypt to participate in the "civilized eagle 2025" joint exercises with the Egyptian Air Force, which represents a strengthening of military cooperation between the two countries.

The radar system in the KJ-500 is characterized by its ability to detect a wide range of targets, including ghosts, and China is said to be constantly developing its radar technology to enhance its ability to monitor advanced aircraft.

Egypt entered the final stages of negotiations with South Korea to purchase up to 100 Korean Light-fighter/trainer Eagle aircraft ...

The deal is of 100 Korean aircraft between Egypt and South Korea
The proposed deal, which includes the element of technology transfer and local production of most aircrafts in Egypt, aims to update the Egyptian Air Force and expand its defensive industrial base. The acquisition plan also reflects the increasing strategic cooperation between Egypt and South Korea.

Egypt's ambassador to South Korea: Cairo is about to sign the contract
At the end of last month, the Egyptian Ambassador to South Korea, Khaled Abdel Rahman, stated in an interview with Yonhap News Agency that Cairo is about to sign a contract with the Korean Air Industries Company "Kai".

According to Defenceweb, the agreement includes up to 100 FA-50 aircraft and will start with an initial batch of 36 units, at a value of about one billion dollars.

About 70 aircrafts are expected to be assembled locally at the Egyptian Aircraft Factory in Helwan, according to an agreement signed in 2023 between Kai and the Arab Organization for Industrialization.

The FA-50, which shares about 70% of its components with the F-16, aims to replace Alpha Jets and K-8E ancient Egyptian training aircrafts..

$1 billion for 36 jets is quite good, considering how much equipment they will need aswell. I am suprised to hear they are thinking of replacing K-8Es. They are not that old and perform a different role in the training cycle to what the FA-50 will do.

If so much of the technology is similar to an F16, then it may help Egypt maintain the FA-50 jets cheaper, as they can reuse so much of their existing F16 infrastructure and trained people.

The deal is not related to it as a training aircraft, but rather to the local F-16 development program and the F-16 fleet spare parts manufacturing program in Egypt, which provides more than 70% of F-16 spare parts by manufacturing them locally for the fleet exceeding 160, which will continue to serve for 20 years to produce the Korean ESR-500 radar, which contains 500 modules with a range of 150 kilometers, instead of the Phantom Strik with a range of 80 kilometers. Therefore, producing a larger version of the radar to integrate it into F-16 fighters will give higher performance and greater capabilities at a very low cost. The same applies to developing components to work on the two aircraft with a lighter weight and size and higher capabilities, which works on the structural development of the F-16 fleet. Egypt’s production of the aircraft will also include the integration of other Egyptian, Chinese, Indian, Russian and, of course, Korean munitions. The deal is, of course, larger than a billion dollars because it includes a technology transfer that will not be free, but other funds will be pumped into production licenses and joint development, and the billion dollar figure is only the purchase 36 aircraft could come directly from South Korea. Unlike Egypt producing 70 or more locally, Korea would benefit from expanding the aircraft's user base and potentially obtaining contracts from Africa. Marketing the aircraft's production base would also allow research and development funds to be distributed across a larger number of aircraft and reduce the unit price. The current price of the South Korean Air Force contract is $35 million. One of the aircraft's drawbacks was its exaggerated price for Egypt, especially since Egypt would request large numbers. Egypt is unable to enter the arms market strongly due to poor administrative performance, corruption, and the dominance of the mentally disabled in leadership and management. Therefore, Egypt cannot generate high income and returns from its military deals.
The FA-50 deal remains similar to the K-9 deal, whether it uses K9 components in the development of 600 American M109 howitzers. Perhaps the engine used in the K9, produced in Egypt, could be incorporated into other armored platforms to justify its local production economically.
Perhaps this will prompt another deal, such as the K-239, where the goal is not manufacturing. Essentially, it involves transferring some technologies to develop Chinese and Egyptian systems in service, such as the WS-2D/A300/DF12, which are produced in Egypt, whether it's the fuel used in missiles, the design of better warheads using Korean technology, the engines, or even the fire control systems, if South Korea has anything superior to Chinese production in manufacturing technology or design. The FA-50 aircraft would not have been the best choice unless it was linked to the F-16 fighters and a local service sustainability program, and also away from any American pressure from the Zionist lobby in America. The Americans also do not want Egypt to turn directly to China, so they are passing some technologies through South Korea so that Egypt does not completely deal with the East. The Americans found that even their pressure on Europe to stop arms deals, Egypt turned to Russian and Chinese sources with larger deals, had a worse impact on the military balance in the Middle East. We give a simple example: Egypt was denied the Meteor missile, which costs 1.5 One million euros. The alternative was Chinese PL-15 missiles at a price not exceeding half a million dollars. Consequently, Egypt will obtain four Chinese missiles instead of one Meteor missile. The same thing happened. Egypt obtained KH-35 missiles in large numbers at a third or a quarter of the price of the HARPOON missile. In this case, America’s plans to undermine the Egyptian military’s capabilities have failed. Therefore, the European side is re-discussing the sale of weapons to Egypt because it represents a doubling of Egyptian armament due to the prices that were added to Eastern weapons after Western armament failed to prove its efficiency and success in the face of Russian weapons that crushed Ukraine, which the Russians use Ukraine as a tool to drain the West and its military-industrial complex.

According to China's official news (CCTV), the Chinese fighter jets participating in the joint training were transported to Egypt by Y-20. (They were disassembled and loaded into the Y-20 transport aircraft, and then reassembled after being transported to Egypt.)

Very odd to transport them bny plane - why not allow the pilots to fly there? Would have been very good experience for them to fly over so many different countries and airspace.

The last time the J-10C visited Egypt, it flew directly from China to Egypt. So it already has this experience.

Special correction:
According to the latest video released by CCTV, several PLAAF J-10C/J-10S participating in the joint training flew directly to Egypt. They flew directly to Egypt with the support of YY-20A aerial refueling.

You know all of this Chinese weaponry talk craze really makes you think what the options Egypt really has going for it in the near future. And those are only ANNOUNCED deals, yet there’s big speculation and evidence that there are almost a dozen unannounced deals for Egypt that have already taken place. For example the hq9 b missiles along with the hq17 and hq18 missile systems. And there’s the iskander missile too which is suspected to be in Egyptian service now, which if true is a huge game changer. The bastion anti ship missiles are more or less confirmed atp. It makes you think if they’ll actually by j35s en masse or buy off the fc-31 project to have its own template. Which isn’t too far-fetched to being true. Turkey wanted Egypt to be a major stakeholder in the kaan project as well, which Pakistan and Azerbaijan are already mustering the man power and workers to get the job done and produce them in considerable numbers. Indonesia had talks about being a part of that too. I get turkey is trying to use the kaan to “unite” the major Islamic nations to put not only put itself back on the map but to have this sense of unity to counter the west as well. Frankly I’d like to see Egypt part of this project but under the conditions that turkey stops its ottoman like agendas and influence in the region. Many folks who are anti sisi would immediately jump the rope and perceive that move from Egypt as “weakness” when it really isn’t. Especially since Erdogan made a complete u turn and ended up shaking sisi’s hand a decade after he promised to never open up with Egypts commander and chief. It’s just that Egypt is Persuing 5th gen capabilities where ever it can get to not only field in decent numbers, but to have its own template in the future to make its own variants.

The Egyptians are the so-called kings of deception, manipulating everyone for their own interests and to achieve their goals.

For 40 years, the Americans have wanted Egypt to reveal its relationship with North Korea, and Egypt refused, even when it announced that Egypt had halted its weapons programs with North Korea. The Americans recently demanded that Egypt reveal its relationship, and Egypt, of course, refused.

Everything being said about Russian fighter jets and the halted deals will reveal that Egypt has not yielded to America.

Even Israel's announcement that Egypt wants to purchase a batch of MIG-35 fighter jets, there are rumors that Egypt has already signed a deal with the Russians to compensate for the losses of its MIG-29 aircraft, whether in Sudan or for testing. The Russians are supplying some of these aircraft as compensation, in compliance with Russian contracts they signed regarding the freedom to integrate non-Russian weapons into Egyptian aircraft.

China's relationship with China dates back to the 1970s. When we talk about a deal like the HQ-9B/18, these are normal matters. As an Egyptian, I own more than 40 HT-200 radars. It may be a local factory. Has it been decommissioned due to the retirement of most SA-2 systems, or has it been used as an integral part of newer systems after being upgraded? Egypt also wants large numbers of long-range batteries at an affordable cost. The Russian S-300V4 battery costs no less than $250 million, and perhaps $300 million after the radical upgrades requested by Egypt, while the Chinese systems cost $130 million. China has always been flexible in local manufacturing, especially for a country like Egypt, which wants large numbers that are economically feasible for manufacturing.

Egypt manages its relationship with the Russians and the Chinese with other matters. Egypt arms countries like Sudan, Somalia, and even Eritrea, as well as some African countries, in exchange for payment in gold to the Russians and the Chinese, outside the framework of SWIFT systems and international banking controls. This further complicates matters. Is America an ally of Egypt?
Former Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman declared that America is an enemy and that we deal with it with the logic of postponing the conflict. We are not drawn into a conflict, as some want, for the benefit of other parties, but only for the interests of Egypt. Therefore, Egypt is doing so. By calming the situation and not paying attention to America and its arms restrictions, there is a lot going on behind the scenes. Many American weapons are being developed locally through companies and deals with intermediary companies and countries, because the alternative is to dismantle half of the systems and use them as spare parts for the outdated systems until they are out of service.
The noise being made—Egypt wants the J-10C or JH-7A H, the J-16, the J-35, and even the J-20—is to confuse the real deal, as well as pressure messages.
The West has suspended its arms contracts with Egypt since 2021. The Americans are the first to know the Egyptian reaction. In 2011, the United States and the West implemented an arms embargo on Egypt. The Egyptian response was ballistic missile deals with China and Russia, and an increase in Russian weapons stockpiles in Egypt. The same thing happened in 2013.
The United States is a servant of Israel's expansion plans. Will Egypt accept that? Of course not. Therefore, when Trump howls about aid, Egypt doesn't care about it. It doesn't compare to the Egyptian economy, but simply doesn't announce its arms sales so that it doesn't get damaged. Pumping more weapons into Israel. The United States is arming Israel with the illusion of Israeli superiority as a deterrent message. Egypt has had good opportunities during the truce period from 1979 until the following period, from October 7, 2023. These are all opportunities for Egypt to increase its military capabilities.
Over the course of a year and a half, Egypt has gradually revealed the beginning of a massive buildup of old weapons and the development of old weapons. Everything presented to the media is only what is permitted. The United States does not release divisions, brigades, and armies for display except after numerous written approvals, and it does not display real capabilities.

Egypt is conveying to the Americans that Egypt does not arouse suspicion, and that it is merely protecting its borders. It is also concerned that the war in Gaza does not cease on all fronts, because this will erode Israel, no matter how much Western support it receives. It is no longer suitable economically or militarily. The ongoing exhaustion makes Egypt concerned that no truce occurs.

Therefore, Egypt's strikes between Yemen and Israel, and even the losses they cause to the Egyptian economy, are seen as another matter: putting Israel under constant pressure and strikes. It cannot even stabilize for a moment until its end in 2028.
So, calm and any conflict between Iran and Israel and Turkey and Israel encourages Egypt because it is a loss for both parties and a benefit for Egypt, which postpones the conflict for as long as possible. It also weakens all regional rivals. Two years ago, I spoke about Egypt's regional enemies: Israel, Ethiopia, Turkey, and Iran.
Ethiopia has been besieged and destroyed from within by civil wars that will not stop. At any time, Egypt could destroy its dams, which are also being destroyed by corruption in the design and implementation processes. The Italians have made it easy to buy them, and they have also cut off Africa's influence in the Horn of Africa.
Iran and Turkey are now almost besieged and want to cooperate with Egypt, and Egypt obtains from them what benefits it economically and militarily. It will not stand with any of them in any conflict. They are neither allies nor friends, but only cooperation out of necessity.

Israel, in its illusion of expansion, has an extremely exhausted and threatened army. They are fools who do not possess the real capacity even for expansion.

Even the Gulf states of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the Emirates, who work as servants to Israel, Egypt has cornered them and ruined their economic projects, such as the India-Israel corridor. It has turned them into illusions, even when they were working on them, because Egypt has provided ready-made, cheaper alternatives. It has even made China realize that Egypt's support is beneficial to its economic projects and the Belt and Road Initiative, as it is the most important maritime corridor for its trade with Europe. Therefore, economic and military cooperation with Egypt is more important. From any country in the Middle East, because it is important to the Chinese economy, Egypt can benefit from the current trade wars. Products sold at a low cost are the result of wars. For example, if Egypt wanted to develop a local airline, it could purchase Boeing aircraft, which China rejects, at a low price. The blockade on the Russians provided Egypt with wheat at good prices and with favorable facilities for Egypt, Sudan, and Libya. Expelling the Russians from Syria has benefited Egypt from Russia's armaments, and also gradually eliminating the Western presence in Libya. Quietly, Egypt is doubling its capabilities from all available international sources. Trump and America are a vocal phenomenon. They want to show that they are the ones who carry out their will. For 12 years, the Egyptians have been developing parts of the F-16 fighter jet locally, and there was a delegation from the American company Lockheed Martin. The Americans said, "We cannot force you not to develop, but you should not announce it. You are free to do what you want with your equipment as long as it is not marketed outside Egypt."

The KJ-700 is a complete development of the KJ-500 with better engines, an improved airframe for the Y-9, a more advanced radar, and the addition of capabilities to counter stealth aircraft and ballistic missiles, and even guide missiles from cities, and better capabilities in countering obstruction, which is reflected in all guidance indicators for 500 air targets, range, survivability, and length of stay in the air.
